Launch control on 45e?

I test drove the 45e a couple of weeks ago (M Sport) and tried to activate launch control but couldn't get it to work. The 40i I tested a few months earlier could do it without any problem.
I'll receive my 45e soon so I'll be able to test it myself after the break-in period but I was just curious if it has it or not?

the car may not have it or you might need to pass a certain mileage / engine oil up to temp etc first. there's a variety of things that could have prevented it. Launching with DSC fully off gives you better results FWIW

I test drove an X5 45e and it had for sure launch control.
We did it at the end of the test drive so the car was for sure on working temperature.
The steps I did to make it work:
Turn off the traction system (simple click NO hold down).
Put the car in sport mode.
Put the transmission in S.
Put one foot on the brake and full kick down on gas while holding brake.
It will say "launch control" on the dash and then just release the break.

The manual says launch control is only available when the engine is at normal temperature and this should take 10 minutes of the ICE being active. So probably when you tested it the engine temp was to low. Further they advise not to use it during the break in period but not a specific range that should be done with the ICE.

Do you need to have the M sport model for this. Just got 45e - Didn’t have LC, wouldnt have launched it so don’t complain, but tried to test if it had one.

Is it because it is in Break-In period so software does not allow it OR do I need M sport model or if that, can it be coded?

Launch control only becomes available when the engine is at working temperature and this is after driving around 10 km.

The M pack is cosmetic on the 45e it isn't mechanically different.

The manual advises not to use it during break in period but I don't think it is blocked like the running temperature does.

I haven't used it I think it is fast enough
