How crazy are F15 discounts right now.
I got sent a letter from my dealer 8k off a 65k 2018 35i if l buy this month. Was a 4 month pull forward on my December ending lease.

I have a phenomenal relationship with my dealer. They’re selling me the car at around $2400 over invoice, or $3500 off MSRP. I’m absolutely positive I can beat that deal by shopping, but that’s not how you build a strong relationship. I got their first X5. If I want an M8, I get one of the first cases at MSRP, not $10k over. That’s what a great relationship looks like.

My offer from midwestern dealership: x5 4e. MSRP $78.5K with hitch included. Ship from east coast dealership. All fees included. $70K. No relationship with dealership. Another dealership: midwest location, no relationship, x5 40e, MSRP $81K with hitch. $72K all in. No shipping included. Both deals included financing and loyalty incentives. Will wait for G05 diesel or hybrid.

Those are good prices. I ended up with a flat six percent off sticker plus another $2640 in incentives. And now I have a very good relationship with this dealer. He just doesn’t happen to be my local dealer who thinks I should be happy with a three percent discount.

So if the typical profit margin (not including volume and other dealer-wide incentives) for the G05 is say 7%, then you are looking at a max profit of 5k on a $70k build give or take depending on option margins.

So $3-3.5k before incentives and credits seems like a pretty good deal on a brand new car (not good for a current model clearly). But isn't it true that neither side is committed to the transaction at time of order and things might be different at time of delivery (the buyer may be unhappy with the way it drives, the color, certain options sight unseen at order time or different incentives may be at play that make or break the deal, etc.) In reality it is great to get a 'target price' at order time but it certainly could change if either side wanted to press the issue at delivery.

Agreed. My dealer offered me 2.5K off and I am not committed to buying the ordered X5. So we could sure haggle more, especially with a trade involved.

I will be very curious how long close to MSRP lasts. Audi Q7s are being offered with steep discounts and the high-end segment is now very competitive. BMW has discounted enough in the past that customers may expect it. The G05 will need to be a home run for prices to hold up - it is expensive considering that many features are now standard even in Honda and Toyota. Well - except the gesture control...

Not comparing BMW to Honda, just pointing out the safety features have become commodities at this point as has LED lighting and even Car Play...oops BMW charges for that!

Since I was offered a 6% discount off sticker, I doubt that 7% is the dealer’s margin on the G05. I also have never heard of a dealer reneging on a deal where you have put a deposit down on your order.

I ordered a 2019 X5 today (Yay!) and it was priced Wholesale + $2,000.
In my case that was MSRP $81,300 and my price $78,160.
I did not get a leather credit (I ordered extended Merino), but was told if BMW offers any incentives, they will be applied and come off my cost.

You are probably right...just quoting a number from few other forums that have mentioned that 7% as the typical wholesale margin on the base price and a higher margin (9%?) on options...no idea really but wondering if that is in the ball park?

And I agree that no BMW dealer would reneg...just that they could.

Speaking of downpayment, what is the typical amount expected these days? When I ordered my 550 (too many years ago) I don't recall what I put down.

It was on the G05. We’re on the G05 forum.

I put down a thousand, btw, which I think, but am not sure, is fairly standard.

I received quotes from the a few dealerships in the same area, the quotes were all around 3% off MSRP without negotiation.

Thanks for the info. I would be satisfied getting 3% off MSRP on a 2019 50i in Mass.

i just find out on this forum that the best deals for leases are in California; you can order the car there and I guess you have to cover the transport...may be worth it

I second that. The car feels much more premium and considering I spend way more time inside that outside it is a key option.

I thought I'd evacuate from coastal NC to come to Greenville where I was hoping I'd be able to see a few X5s at the Performance Center or on the tour at BMW Zentrum. No such luck. No walk-ins allowed at the center, and the factory tours are for the X3/X4 line only. So I had some (lots) of free time and visited Century BMW in Greenville. I may make a deal for an MSport model. Should I look elsewhere for a deal like yours?
