Among many other issues, I've had this one too. It was a simple clip, dealer fixed it quickly.

Garage List
it's an easy fix, is a loose set of clips that holds the upholstery to the seat chassis, but c'mon...... this should not happen to a car like the X5, that new seat supplier just sucks in QC IMO

WTF? Multiple people having this kind of petty seat problem?

I really think that Magna has quality control production problems.

Like the wrinkles...it's supposed to do that. Comfort designed.
Certainly not Magna fault.

That tells me there is something wrong with your clip.

I think so, last time only took 20 minutes in and out.
This time took about 1.5 hours because they took whole thing out and reinstalled.

It is a simple fix. Just fold the hard plastic end and flip it up so it is pointing up to the roof and insert it into the slot.

Is it worth while pulling of off and telling them it happened again? I have no tolerance for going back and forth to a dealer for the same thing. My time is too valuable and sometimes they appreciate our time with these things.

I cannot believe this issue hit me 3 times, and now it's the driver seat

Very poor quality!

It shouldn't be surprising, given the comments from the Lear CEO.

The only way the price point of the seats was going to come down was de-speccing them and/or reducing the build quality or time taken to make them.

Magna are giving BMW exactly what BMW wanted, which is inferior quality seats to those in the previous gen cars.

Hi, I am now part of this seat broken club.

Driver seat for me. I am guessing the passenger seat will have the same fate in no time.

I have the same issue today. Passenger seat. Taking it to dealer on Tuesday and will get the software updated so cornering lights work, I hope!

I stopped by at my local dealer the other day to check out the G05 (because I'm looking to place an order soon). The G05 in the show room has the same issue. I was somewhat disappointed to see an $80k car with this kind of issue.

Mine just broke on the driver's seat as well today. Taking it to the dealer today for break pads anyways. By the way how's it normal that I need front break pads at 8,000miles? My SA said he's been seeing cars 6,000-9,000 needing new pads a lot lately.
