Congratulations!! Very happy for you. I have virtually the same build...except CF trim instead of aluminum (plus B&W). Hopefully production at Spartanburg doesn’t hold us up. Not sure my heart can take it.

Thanks guys, now the long wait...hoping for no plant shut downs or delays!

The MBB and Silverstone looks like a color combination. I saw a MBB F90 M5 in person and the color is stunning.

This was my understanding as well.

Separate question for those of you who have bought multiple BMWs (or just know the answer) - please don’t flame me for this being a slightly different topic as I suspect this group will have some thoughts:

Does the March financing offers that are published by BMW dealerships (e.g. loyalty cash back of $1,250 on the F95) apply only to the applicable vehicles that are actually delivered to the customer in the month of March? If my car is expected for delivered in April, does that mean I need to wait for the offers that are published for the month of delivery (April) in order to determine what, if any, such benefit I will be entitled to?

Related question - does the dealership have discretion to deny or decline to honor such an incentive or is it a certainty that I will get that discount regardless of any prior negotiations regarding price (which was basically no discount because I got the first allocation they had)?

Thanks for your insight,

Chris

My Sales Manager told me the Gas Guzzler Tax will be added to the final invoice. I'll try to clarify this information this week.

Sorry he's wrong. X5 is considered a truck because of the flat rear load floor. No gas guzzler taxes on trucks only passenger cars

Looks like you are correct, thank you for the information.

From the EPA website:

Quote:
The Gas Guzzler Tax is assessed on new cars that do not meet required fuel economy levels. These taxes apply only to passenger cars. Trucks, minivans, and sport utility vehicles (SUV) are not covered because these vehicle types were not widely available in 1978 and were rarely used for non-commercial purposes.
I will reprimand my Sales Manager

Congrats OP!!!

Finally you got it, happy for you!

Hope there is no delay, because most manufacturing are starting to cut hours down.

Thanks Miko! I'm now in the same boat as the rest of you...waiting for production to begin and hoping there isn't a plant shutdown.

My Client Advisor told me that you can lock in the current incentives for 60 days. After the 60 days expire, they can request to lock in that incentive again. If, at the time of delivery, the incentives are better than the previous ones, they will honor those incentives.

Any Client Advisors on this forum care to chime in?

This is my understanding and my approach as well. I have a M50i on order and my CA is going to lock in the rate at the end of March so I atleast have what is being offered now for 60 days. If the rates/deals gets better for April and May I can still qualify for it because chances are I won't be getting the car anytime soon with the inevitable delays....

I can't see how BMW or other car manufacturers not get desperate in the coming months to try to spark some sales.

What i worry about now is my M3's trade in value. We have a verbal agreement for the amount that I am comfortable with but with the way the market has been I can't see how it wouldn't impact the trade in value. I asked my CA and he insisted it won't be impacted but frankly i don't believe him.

Alan

You guys mentioned the X5 is not subject to the gas guzzler tax since it's considered and SUV. Is that the case for the X6 as well? I'm curious if the change in shape constitutes a different classification.

Thanks for this - very helpful. I talked to my CA today and he more or less confirmed what you said. I would think the April incentives will be at least as good as the current March incentives, but not any worse. Nevertheless, its good to lock in a “floor” of benefit now. Thanks again.

So yesterday per the tracker on MyBMW, my order had moved to scheduled for production, the second step, but now today it is back to order received. My guess they are getting close to shutting down production in Spartanburg.

I just checked and my status also regressed - now says “order received” instead of “scheduled for production”. Not a good sign. Unless this is just a coincidental glitch on the site, I don’t think an April (or even May) delivery is realistic at this point for any “week 14” or later F95s.

I agree. I was originally told to expect it end of April but I don't see it getting built or arriving any time near that which is fine. Much more important items to focus on at this time. Just more time with the M5.

Mine still says scheduled for production but I know I probably won't get it until June. Oh well. Not that important right now anyways
