Brittle windshields?

Purchased the car in summer of ‘22 and just had the 3rd crack repaired

My 2016 328i saw one crack over four years. The Jetta before that never got one over three years. I’ve been commuting roughly the same route, and the past few years only three days a week..

Has anyone else with newer models experienced this?

Oh yeah, 3 on my 2020 in 1 year and 2 on my 2022 in the first year.

1 in my previous 40+ years (non BMW cars).

Jeeeesus. I wonder if the glass manufacturing plant was over-stressed from all the lockdown disruption during that period (although that theory doesn’t track with your 2020, I assume those parts were made pre-COVID)

Edit; I guess this solves it lol

Could be differences in the rake of the windshield.
