What tire pressures are you running on your winter setup?
I'm currently running 43 PSI on all four corners of my square set up of the following:
-20x9 +30 -265/45-20 (My OEM wheels are 22" 742Ms) According to the computer, pressures of 42 PSI are recommended. Would like to see what pressures everyone is running on their 21" and 22" setups, whether they are square or staggered! |

Even for a square setup? In the US I believe 20" OEM wheels are staggered, hence the computer instructs owners to maintain different pressures front and rear. However, there isn't an option to select identical sizes on all four corners, which is why I set the same pressure all around.

Hm, but now that you mention it, the computer does indicate that "it will determine front wheels automatically" and I now wonder what it thinks I have on the front? Hm. Will investigate further. .

I've asked my dealer to excavate a formal answer from BMW regarding what the car is assuming is on the front with my settings. No answer yet (and I give it a max 20% chance of ever getting one), but in the meantime, playing with every available combination of 20" winter wheel setups in iDrive, it always recommends 33psi front and 41psi rear cold. The settings don't make any difference, at least not cold. FWIW to OP's question.

What's of further interest is that the rears also change from 41psi to 43psi. I am assuming it changes based on weather, but haven't found the threshold yet for the increase to 43psi. Fronts never change though from 33psi.

The recommended pressure doesn't change with weather, but it does change with tire temperature (which is related to outside ambient temperature and, obviously, driving loads). As tire temps go up, actual pressure goes up and the associated recommended pressure goes up as well. This makes sense. My fronts go up in recommended temperature as they warm up as well as the rears.

I can confirm this. I have seen the recommended pressure for the rear change between 41 to 43 psi.

The reason you only put the rear axle in the idrive is because it then knows what you have on the front. If you put the 20 summers it gives you the staggered set up. Change it to winters and it automatically assumes a square set up.The rear axle is always the widest for the staggered set up so it knows. The only time it would be different is if you go non OEM and have some completely different set up.

Ive attached a snap from wheel size.com This is for Europe G05 30D . Each model gets different entry but fundamentally they are the same. As you can see the 20 wheels are staggered for summer but square for winter.

Another possibility is that your car doesn't have TPMS but rather the inertial relative tire pressure monitoring. I had originally assumed (a while back) that all G05 has TPMS in all markets, but it did come out that some markets had inertial (old-style, a la E46 for example) monitoring. I'll try to dig up the posts on this from at least a year ago. But considering you're in US, this latter theory doesn't seem likely.

LexxM3 I got the recommended tire pressure to show. The tire setting was correct. It was set to the 22 inch tires. I selected "other" and then flipped it back to 22 inch.
