It's a gorgeous car, but in today's age, that V8 is extremely underpowered (467hp) and as has been stated, it's a heavy boat.

I think grand tourers are great, but this one still needs a diet and extra power. For that alone, I don't see how anyone can justify spending $100k+ on these. There are tons down here in S. FL. To me, that's more $$ than common sense.

Never seen one in the Northeast, but I do see them every time I head to South Florida.

What a beautiful car. I ran with one on the highway recently and it sounded awesome, great combination of the V8 and a proper exhaust.

I will say right off the bat, the V8 sounds amazing, especially out of the box. Very refreshing especially in this day and age. Interior quality and design is top notch. Exterior is also great and looks very special (especially in red).

The problem I have with it is that it's too expensive IMO, even used. I've been advocating that cars don't need to have crazy performance because they're becoming unusable for the streets, but I just don't think this one has enough for this price category.

Let me put it this way, I drove to the dealership in my E92 M3, and the Lexus felt no faster or more fun my car. I think it'll be a bit more doable when they are at $40k.

P.S. I'm also partial to Toyota/Lexus, I swear by their products when it comes to DD's
At $40K it would be one heck of a bargain. My neighbor has one, and as much as I love my e90 m3, the bespoke design and quality/material of LC500 is on a different league IMO. Sure it's underpowered in today's standard, but it's an NA V8 that's been around forever which means it will outlast any German turbocharged V8s. These will be collectable when Lexus finally kills off NA V8.

Agreed, just know that you'll be trading style for driving experience IMO, which is definitely OK if that's what you're looking for. I much prefer the driving experience in my E92 M3.

I do agree that these will be very collectible though, so the 40k wish probably will never happen

oh I didn't mean to suggest LC500 is more fun to drive than e9x M3. Just making a point that bespoke parts explain the price difference. If M3 wasn't based on a 3 series and had to be designed ground up I'm sure it would cost a lot more. I would love to pick one up used in a couple years. I agree it's more of a GT car when compared to M3. I would pick it over any BMW currently on sale though.

I like the styling and I'm sure it's built well but I just don't understand why it's so damn heavy as 4400 lbs is crazy for a 2WD coupe like this.

It's a large luxury GT car with tons tech and comfort features. I'm sure the weight is not that different from say an 8 series which is what it would compete against. It's not a car for carving up the twisty roads but rather a car for cruising.

Agree, a great used GT car, especially since it has Lexus reliability.

Some of the haters should actually go drive RCFs, LC500s and if possible a GSF.

On paper they give off the false impression that they're underpowered, heavy and expensive.

But driving these V8 NA cars is a phenomenal experience and a car like this will be coveted in the next few years. It will absolutely be a classic, even more so after electrification becomes mainstream. Something like an m8 will fall by the wayside, but not this.

This is a great car and I really respect Lexus for bucking the trend of forced induction and just doing their own thing. I was hoping for an LC-F but that's prob not happening now.

Here's a great vid if anyone's interested and I for one will buy an LC500 at some point. I'm glad production will run for a few more years and the minor tweaks being done to the car each year is a excellent strategy by Lexus and I'm hoping the final year will be the one to pick up.

Admittedly I'm a Lexus F fan. I own a GSF and my first car was a 2002 manual IS300 but I get how it's not for everyone.

I drove the GS-F when it came out and loved it. At the time the F10 M5 was available and faster, but it lacked the communication, character, and sound of the GS-F. I haven't experienced an RC-F but I think the V8 really fits the character of the GS and LC as they are luxury cruisers that can take a corner. Not to mentioned the seats and materials were excellent, they just need a new infotainment system.

Also those original IS300 with an I6 and 6MT are awesome! Incredibly hard to find these days. From what I hear a lot of people will buy those older I6 Lexus' mainly to use parts in the Supra so a lot have either been modded or destroyed. A clean one is like a needle in a haystack these days.

Interesting about the GS-F, I've never had a go myself. The LC500 was actually my first go in a car with that engine and it was good. You almost never see Lexus F cars around my area too

They are pretty much non-existent here as well. I've seen more LC's in the last year than GS-F's since they came out. I imagine its mainly because Lexus' clientele is not very interested in sport sedans. The RX, NX and ES are the big cash cows.

Ever since the convertible came out - LC sales have seen a nice increase.

This is a car you need to test drive - the Sound it makes will make you forget any lack of HP #s on paper. It is immensely more fun to drive than 8series.

Agreed. I test drove one last weekend and now can't get it out of my head. The experience of that supple ride, hearing the induction and exhaust sounds, feeling the soft touch of every surface of the interior. And then listening to the wiping cracks of the engine when ever I pulled the paddles to up or down shifts. The car sound very similar to our e9x engine, just louder and more visceral. I didn't care how fast or slow it was, I just want to have it every day.
