Curious timeline, need insight

Night of 6/15 through 6/16- Went all the way from entering assembly to awaiting carrier assignment.

6/17 - Dispatched from factory

6/20 (today) - At the port

CA wasn’t in today. Called genius and she stated car is “at VPC and will maybe leave on the 23rd and could be there by 6/29”. 👀

My dealer is about an hour east of NYC. My question is: Do all cars go to the VPC?? Does this timeline seem right for a 13 hour truck ride from Spartanburg??

My dealer is in MD - 8hrs away from Spartanburg. The car didn't go through a VPC, went straight from "dispatched from factory" to "at dealership". I wonder if beyond certain distance they process it through a regional port in NJ for example.

No, the only vehicles that go to a VDC are the ones that go by rail to the West Coast. All others are by truck and go directly from the plant to the dealer. If I had to guess I would say it is waiting for a truck to take it from a depot to your dealer.

So when I picked up my car I asked them what it showed in their system and it said that the car was at the VPC. They had a few vehicles there that they were waiting for. Mine went straight from the factory around 6pm Monday night and was at the dealer by 11:30am the next day.

CA says it’s on a truck and should be here by the latest Friday.

I called genius back just to see…they said it’s still at the VPC lol. I would’ve paid $100+ extra to have an Air Tag put in this thing during the build 🙃

Genius is the name of the help line, not the description of the people who work there or the quality of the information they give. Hope you get yours soon.

Ain’t that the truth… I’ll never forget how I was told someone could leave their PB&J sandwich on the car and it’ll extent quality check
