I know a guy who used to work for a "memory foam" manufacturing place. They would give out pillows and thinner pads to people who took tours because it cost them so little to produce.


Fun fact, he said that some of their full size mattresses cost something stupid, like single digit dollars to produce that would sell for hundreds if not into the thousands of dollars.
