IS-F Wheels? 13K?

I was at the Lexus dealership today getting my wife's RX serviced. They had a blue IS-F parked outside. I was talking to the service rep about it, he said that they had the wheels stolen off of another IS-F that they had in thier storage lot.

He then told me that the wheels are "strange sized" and the rims are "specially designed" and it cost $13K to replace the set of 4. I didn't have the heart to call BS. Anyone else hear that?

OEM have the right to issue what ever price they want. I'm not surprised For example, the cost of a single Bugatti tyre comes in at £5000 although they will sell four for £17000

I'll sell you a set of four for only $10,000. You can flip them to the dealer and STILL make bank!

Yeah, they're 19" x 8.612479754245" with a 30.9653356865413mm offset. Takes some uber special CNC machine to cut it.

Something doesn't add up. If they're "special sized", then presumably they only fit the IS-F. So the only market for these would be to IS-F owners who had their wheels stolen.

Thieves could write ransom notes to the original owner... "if you want your wheels back while saving $4k vs. the dealer price, put $10k in small bills into a leather bag and drop in the dumpster behind..."

hahaha!

I heard the exact same thing when they first came out!
I went to the dealers to test drive them, the guy
told me that only they could drive and I had to sit
on the passenger side!

The reason was they didn't want anyone to curb the rim
since they were $3000 a piece!

I mean seriously, do i look that stupid?

In the UK, BMW dealers charge £3.5K for the special order 21" alloys with tyres on the X6 and this is a replacement for the stock rims and plus that come standard.

That's roughly $6.5K US dollars so I doubt Lexus could possibly be looking any more than that.
