FIAT no longer will make grey cars

Obviously, an effort for market differentiation, but it's a good ad.

And a reminder of how much we stress over the different shades of grey available at BMW

I'm all for it. I'm so over boring car colors. Our X5 is Phytonic Blue and the Z4 is Thundernight Metallic.

It's time for the car manufacturers to progress to a process that allows the customers to choose any colors instead of having to choose from a limited predetermined colors. I know that it is doable and that it'd cost more but they'd be able to optimize the process with time. The dealerships can order any colors they want , let's say from 256 colors, and they would swap cars in case a customer needs a specific color they don't have but another dealership has.

That would be AWESOME!

I ordered Blue Ridge Mountain Metallic because my last three cars were white, gray, and black. I needed something new.

It has always puzzled me. All subjective, and buy what you like, but white cars always look unfinished to me, grey cars are boring as hell, and while black cars look fantastic when clean and unscratched, well, life is not like that.

All for more colors!

I'm so glad there were no boring greys available for me to choose from when I ordered my 2023 X5 back in December because I most certainly would have taken the cowards path once again. First blue car since my very first 1966 1600 back in the 80's!

although I guess technically the 2018 Silverado I had for a few years was a blue-ish grey.....

Another Blue Ridge Mountain Metallic guy here ! I have my other two car as whites so avoided getting another white otherwise that would have been goto color for my x50e . And while at it, please allow me to add lighter fuel - black is a color that I abhor after getting my very first car in black. Based on the posts here it seems to be the most popular color and I can't understand why - it's hard to see any body features in black (check out all the pics posted on this forum), it's always dirty, gets way hotter in summer and difficult to see in dark - people why ?
