Would 275/40R21 & 305/35R21 tires work on 741 Wheels
My seemingly endless pursuit of a winter setup has led me to question if these tires would work on my 741 wheels. I’m not comfortable driving with the summer tires and I just got the X5 Dec 31st… been out of my garage 4 times and a total of 78 miles, no fun!

305/35R21 is -0.9% smaller overall than the OEM 315/35R21 rear and OEM 275/40R21 front. Since it's with in 1% they should work fine with the following notes: - 686RPM or 6rpm more than front, when speedometer reads 60 km/h actual speed will be 59.5 km/h Overall no major impacts to speedo or xDrive https://www.wheel-size.com/calc/?whe...0mm&sr=0mm

I just bought four front 741 wheels (21x9.5) and slapped on all season Non run flat tires - 275/40/21
I can now rotate the wheels, find all seasons easily and rides much smoother (40 side profile tires all around and non run flat tires). |

Very nice solution! I ended up ordering winter tires for my 741 wheel, they are being installed tomorrow. I’ll decide if i want to keep these my winter set???

There are a few folks here that moved the sidewall up 5 to get more options; ex 275/45/21 & 315/40/21. Additionally, you might be able to do 285 or 295 in square set-up.
Keep us posted on what you end up with.... |

I went with true Winter Pirelli RF… If I would have decided to go without RF I would have gone with the Vredestein Wintrac Pro 275/45 all around. Would have saved a 300 bucks on the Vredestein as well and I understand they are great performing tires.

was debating RF vs Non RF also Pirelli vs. Michelins but since no spare and Pirelli somewhat cheaper I will go same route! Thank you again!

I just drove home with the new shoes on…. Felt great, but it’s a short drive and was still taking it pretty easy. I do feel very confident now, that being said. And I think they look pretty damn good as well.

while I was waiting for the car to arrive (I should be collecting it in a next couple of days) the Pirelli's went on back order.
I also see Michelin Pilot Alpin 5 SUV tires which seems pretty similar as far as rating goes, the price difference within $200 not terrible anyone has any words on these Michelins?
