Service Information Bulletin (SIB) For Vehicles Not Getting the current OTA Update

I'm guessing this is why many of us are not getting the 07/2021.XX update. Damn!!! Is BMW EVER going to get their shit together?

I never trust them to do anything on their own. I always bring the printed SIBs with me so there's no question or argument about whether or not it's covered under warranty.

i tend to mention an SIB when I'm talking to them or when I set up an online appt

If I had known about the SIB, I would have brought it with me. It looks like it was released in Oct.2021. So it's been out for a few months.
I'll be watching to see what results others have had with this SIB.

Took in my G05 warranty work and had a conversation with the SM about this SIB.

He seemed skeptical and asked if I had error messages. I told him that manual searches came up empty and the app kept saying nothing there.

He then said he had no problems with OTAs on his 2020 X5, but his wife's X3 is not working so will need to come to the shop. I told him one thing I noticed was that early build G05's like mine - 11/11/18 - were among those not getting anything after 3/2021.50

I read from another forum that mentions BMW delayed 07/2021 OTA for the HDD version of the ID7.

11.2021 hasn't yet gone OTA in mass as yet. (There's been a couple of reports of it possibly starting, but not sure if those are real as yet…)

In any case, if you got 07.2021 OTA, you'd want to sit tight, as there may be nothing wrong…

As mentioned above, 11/2021 has not been released as OTA yet, probably will be within the next month or so. As far as the SIB is concerned, that would only be relevant if you didn't receive the OTA and it has been more than 5 weeks since the OTA first started rolling out. If after that time period you haven't received the OTA then you can reference the SIB when making the appointment.

Well myself, and others, have just been offered 7/2021.85 today, so I suspect it may be a little while yet before we see 11/2021 as an OTA. But it also wouldn't surprise me to see it come hot on the heels of 7/2021 to maybe get everyone caught up to current.

Makes me wonder if maybe, somehow, .85 is a fix for the issues identified in that SIB, especially since it is only being downloaded in the phone app & not in the car itself, at least based on my experience. My previous two OTAs were both downloaded in the car first and I installed in the car without using the app in my phone.

When 07/2021 was announced as an OTA it was mentioned that it would be done by phone. Other than the poster above( and that needs confirmation), I have not seen anyone get it directly to the vehicle.

Ahhh, OK. Guess that corroborates what I'm seeing then.

Mostly I was just trying to point out that there are still people getting 7/2021 rather than 11/2021. Also I thought I had the issue discussed in the SIB, but apparently not. So others that thought they had an issue maybe do not as well ...
