2022 X5 x40i Sub woofer enclousure
I have ordered an Audiotec Fisher Match Up 7 DSP MEC-A. I have found what i think is an awesome shop in Clayton, NC to do the install. My initial plan is to install the amp, install a sub-woofer and some sort of control to adjust amp, presets, and sub-woofer volume controls. I am going to leave the existing speakers in place. I do not think that I will get the base response that I want from the under seat sub location, so I want a stand alone sub.
I do not want to give up space in the cargo area for a dedicated sub. I am going to add a spare tire under the cargo floor. There is one location that I am thinking: 1. On the left drivers rear is a storage area (marked BMW first aid). I have not measured this area critically, but think that i can get 0.6 cf of enclosure. Has anyone installed a sub in this location? If so can you share enclosure details, size and name of the speaker selected and results? Your input would be helpful, looking forward to replies. Thanks Mark |

Mind sharing who your working with in Clayton? I'd like to upgrade the HiFi audio and was thinking about visiting these guys in Raleigh; https://www.bimmerperformancecenter.com. They claim to be a distributor and installer for both Bavsound and Bimmertech.

There is also space on the right side of the cargo where all the fuses are.
If they can make a mould/box that is similar to the F15 JL Stealthbox I'd be interested in the enclosure if it has enough volume. |
