Fuel Type

Found station near me that sells Sunoco 91 / 93 / 100 Octane Ethanol-Free... A bit pricier... Given CR is 10.5.1, what Octane level are folks running on their M50i's? I just switched to 93 Octane Ethanol Free, wondering if it would be beneficial mixing 100 in.

100 won't perform any better than 93 in a stock engine. Spending money on higher octane than recommended is just wasting money. 93 ethanol-free is good stuff.

91 is more than sufficient. That's all we get in California 🤣

Top Tier 93. I can't get 91 close to me and 93 is actually cheaper for me

you dont need ethanol free unless youre storing it in your weedwacker for the winter.

ethanol is oxygenated and makes more power than ethanol free gasoline and has more knock resistance.

Per volume, while ethanol has a higher anti-knock value, it has less energy, so in theory, for the same octane level with or without ethanol, the ethanol-free stuff should give you better mileage. Ethanol allows the company to use a lower octane refined product since the ethanol raises it to the desired value at the cost of less energy per volume.

Why do you add fuel stabilizer in the 45e?

The pressurized fuel tank will keep gas fresh for extended periods without use.

even in sealed, pressurized tanks, the fuel can still degrade. it could help, but won't hurt

Per volume, ethanol has about 10% less energy in it, but produces a higher octane. So, ethanol free gasoline SHOULD give better mileage.
