Most Pathetic Car You've Ever Owned
This should be fun. Doesn't have to have been a beater, just a sad, sad excuse for a car in SOME capacity.
I'm going to have to go with my VERY first 1991 used Honda Civic. What a true piece of crap in EVERY sense of the word. It was awful inside and out. I'm still SO ashamed. lol Maybe this could even be a competition! Come on now, who can sink us the lowest?? Let's try and outdo 1 and other in our patheticness! It's on!

I am still the (proud?) owner of a 1994 green Saturn wagon. It is a dork-mobile. My children are embarrassed to be seen in it. Actually it still looks pretty good (as 'good' as such a dorky car can look!) and gets 30 mpg highway.
Oh, my dad had a FIRST YEAR Ford Escort, silver GL. God, what a DOG that car was! It had about 23 foot pounds of torque. |

I don't own it but it's a long term rental and I have to drive it every day so I'm gonna enter.
Opel Meriva Ecoflex. Non-europeans look it up. This is without a doubt the most awful vehicle I've ever been in possession of. And my first car was a Datsun Sunny. It's catastrophically slow, noisy and it handles like a boat. And just look at it.... I'm so embarrassed... 10 more days till I have my 1

1978 Dodge Aspen.
I got it in 1988 in high school and everybody would always greet me in the hall using... 'How's your Aspen?'

1980 Chevy Chevette. It was so slow, had vinyl seats without any air-conditioning. I was living in central Alabama and sold it within 8 months. Moved up to a Mazda GLC w/AC. Yeah!

Loved my 1st car, a 78 rabbit. The 2nd & 3rd tho.... a 74 F150 with a rotted out bed & floor boards (got wet over puddles), and it had no relay so it was started with 2 screwdrivers. And then it was the 78 mustang... ughhh, nasty car that was.
And to think I was the lucky one... my older sister had a AMC Pacer. |

1977 Ford Thunderbird. It was my mom's until it got rear-ended by a truck, crushing the trunk and bending the subframe.
My dad and I welded on a trunk we got from the junkyard, but it didn't fit correctly due to the bent subframe, so I bondo'ed the gaps, then spray-painted the whole thing using cans of silver Krylon. It had an anemic 302 Windsor engine putting out about 150 hp, pulling about 4000 pounds, getting about 10 mpg, riding on bald tires, and the whole car pulled to the left, again due to the bent subframe. But that car got me through high school and early college, and I wouldn't trade the memories for anything. |

I bet you'd trade the subframe.

1986 Subaru GL - I had to ride around with a case of oil in the trunk and fill it up with oil every morning and after school. When it rained the back seats got soaked because back wndow metal had rotted out, and the trunk had to have the plugs pulled after it rained because the trunk filled up with water. Also two wheels fell off on the highway when the lugnuts stripped themselves on one side of the car. It was awesome for ramming port-o-potty's and shopping carts. It had 4wd though and the spare tire was under the hood right ontop of the engine. Gnarly.

1976 Chevrolet Caprice. Slime green. My wife's grandmother had passed away, and her family needed to sell the old car. I volunteered to help out. I left it on the property for a number of years until one day a bad storm blew a tree over on it. It had a big dent on the roof, but it still ran OK. Shortly thereafter I decided to donate the ugly old car.

It was either that car or the 1988 "gold" Chevrolet Spectrum. They were both equally bad in their own way. |

I would say my aqua 1976 Datsun B210 2-door hatch from high school, but it was actually a really great car for being a crappy 4-cyl import. I only say that because it was light, so it was really fun to take on the local motorcycle TT track and fly off of the jumps. And at least it was a RWD manual, so I could do all the donuts I wanted in the winter.
60 hp Aside from that, it looked exactly like this one (same color) which was definitely not cool: |
