My reasons we different for not choosing the S5:

I went back and forth for a while. I really was not comparing the performance or the interior as I knew that I would be very happy with both cars...

Even though I had a 335i coupe before, I wanted something different with my next car and I was set on S5. But here are my reasons for NOT going w/ Audi:

1. Price: Dealers were so stuck up they would not even offer a free clear bra or Audi Care or any discount on the S5.... As a principle I am not paying MSRP for a car. Period!
-Later, on we went in to buy 2 new Audi's since wife wanted a Q5 and still no discount.... It appeared as Audi dealers do not want to sell cars

2. Customer Service: All my friends who own or owned Audi's in Seattle area are telling me that their initial dealer buying experience sucked and service is even worse.

3. Welt and European Delivery: I know Audi has a European Delivery program but the program is nothing like BMW's.

In conclusion: I did a Euro Delivery w/ a small profit over ED invoice price and got a great car.

-I still have to deal with getting a Q5 but will definitely go out of state for that car.

I agree, There was a Baltic Blue S5 with Cream or White leather in the shop where I was getting my M3 Tinted It looked so F-ing good my M3 felt jealous for a while. It even sounds better with stock exhausts. However the M3 kicks its ass in the real reasons I made my decision. Speed and interior space.

+1, totally different car competition bracket.

as for the price, like i've been saying in all the other threads, unless we get official price for the north american model, don't bother with commenting if it is cheaper or more expensive cuz we simply don't know.

this is true. the s5 has almost zero leg room in the rear consider how big that car is. but it looks beautiful and lot of people i know love it.

i would take the s5 over 335, but not m3 though.

I would agree but only if performance is your most important thing to you, if not then the S5 does make much more sense because it's achingly beautiful to look at, has arguably the nicer interior and definitely the best seats, plus it has a great exhaust note on half throttle, way better than the M3.

I really did love my M3 and without a doubt it has been the sweetest hi-performance car I have owned but it didn't tick the one most important box for me which was AWD and that was one of the main reasons for shipping it on. Plus the fact that in the UK the arse was about to fall out of the big V8 market.

So while I do believe the S5 to be a great all rounder it isn't a substitute for an M3 and was never meant to be.

But the sunroof is huge but yes, the fact it doesn't open sucks. The interior isn't that great, some say the material quality is superior but my A5 interior feels cheap compared to my BMW. The only thing I will see is the attention to details is much nicer in the A5/S5 compared to the 3 series.
