The photos look great. Makes the F30 look dated and the e90 seem like a dinosaur.

Talking about ergonomics and readability; can you imagine what reflecting sunshine is doing to the new digital cluster?

I give you an example; look at the iDrive screen, you cannot see anything
Well I can certainly see my idrive screen!!
In bright sunlight you turn up the brightness if need be but I’ve never had a problem seeing it...

At least BMW have kept the cowled display, unlike the new Mercedes flat screen with nothing to keep sunlight off it

10 years from now the E90 will be desirable because the tech in it won't age as badly as this will.

I'm still not sure how I feel about this new digital gauge cluster. I was hoping the new 3 series gauge cluster was going to look more like the X3 digital gauge.

This one seems so busy too much info to be looking at on gauges and I don't like the arrows looks on the right and left side.

I think about how I drive now, my E90 gauges show me what I need quickly and I'm not constantly looking at them when I drive. These new gauges are too busy looking.

It's the same for infotainment. I might complain about Toyota Entune every opportunity I get but it doesn't mean I hate all infotainment.
Exactly. Just because some of us dislike (a lot) BMW's implementation of its digital dash, doesn't mean we dislike digital dash technology, or technology in general.

grab a pristine one now before they all get crashed/riced out/too expensive

Would be great if it were a sedan or light.

Some Highlights of the BMW Cockpit in the all new 3 Series, X5, Z4 and 8 Series

Looks pretty cool but I have most of these "cockpit" information in my head up display in my current m6.
Isn't it duplication of HUD data? Looks a tad busy and my be distracting.

It looks quite cool, and like anything, will probably be much better in the real world. At the moment, I’m loving the digital cockpit in my M40i, as it has loads of great features, so any improvement over that can only be good.

BMW could draw the conventional round speedo/taho in this big screen. I wish we have an additional "conventional" graphics. No hate for the new design, I like it.

And I think "gay, bmw" is too appleish....

They could indeed and maybe they will... but have you seen my pics (on page 6 of this thread) of the semi-digital 'standard' dials! My guess is this is what we'll get if we don't option the full digital display! I'll be saving my money for an option I actually want!

Now that I've taken a day or so to digest the design. I really like it, it is a nice clean way to bridge the gap from past designs to the i modernized digital cockpit.

The overall instrument cluster and dashboard design is clean and sleek! Everything is where it should be. Nice driver oriented ergonomics utilized, all needed information were it needs to be and nothing else.

I dig the street navigation in the center consul, as well as the music playing. I also like that it changes colors regarding driving modes. I still would like the "Comfort" mode name changed to (Touring).

*The one thing I would to see is that if you the drive prefer a more old-school dial design you can change over to that option.

That gauge cluster is in the new 5 series. I've seen it first hand 2 weeks ago when I was getting a shuttle ride to work from my local BMW dealer. I thought the combo of 1/4 digital gauges + 3/4 physical gauges looked completely asinine.

Everyone likes dinosaurs... They make a whole bunch of movies about 'em.

Is there a 3D map view like in the Audi equivalent?

Had a viewing of the X5 on the weekend, very sexy car. My only issues are first two specs released in Australia are diesel and it has a gold (closest description I can come up with) grill and accents.

Please excuse me while I vomit.

And speaking of that...

They crammed all the infotainment into the binnacle and STILL weren't able to get rid of that cheap tablet sticking haphazardly up from the dash. W in T actual F

EDIT: i can't quote your attachments. i'm referring to the second, full front picture in your post
