Atlas's A/W X5 40i build journal

Joined the G05 club earlier this year, and thought I'd share my build journey. Have to say that this is a fantastic daily driver with great road presence. My M2 has seen significantly less drive time since the X5's arrival!

Car: X5 40i, Jan 2020 build, Alpine white, M-Sport pack including suspension and exhaust, Active Steering, Style 746 Individual 22" wheels, black leather with aluminium trim, Extended Shadowline.

Current significant mods:
- Eibach Pro-kit springs
- 15/20mm FR
- CG Precision DS-1 downpipe
- BMS air intake
- Autotecknic dry carbon mirrors
- Maxton Design gloss black front lip spoiler
- Gloss black rear diffuser

Dealership and new car detailing:

Eibach springs freshly installed. Expect that it will drop a little more once the springs settle:

Looks great! I'm interested to know how the springs turn out...ride quality, drop, etc.

Great build really like the wheels. Love the stance with the eibach springs. Wish we could get those wheels in the US.

I really like the Maxton Design front lip. Too bad installation requires drilling new holes into the front bumper. I am not ready for that type of commitment.

Thanks! Yes it's very strange how the US does not get them!

The drop seems to have settled at around 2 cm reduction, and the ride seems relatively similiar to OEM. Quite happy with the outcome, especially considering the price.

Yes it does require drilling but at least they're on the underside and not really visible. On my M2 my dealer drilled in my front plates and I changed to a different plate holder, and was able to get a mobile repairer to come fill and patch the holes. They were able to do an excellent job at quite a reasonable price, so that's always an option if you want to return to stock.

35% tint on the sides, and 20% on the rear boot window. That's what the legal limit is here in Victoria, Australia. The rears might look darker as they have the window shades up.

Hi atlas!

How would you say the springs ride compare with OEM?

They ride very similar to OEM - still very comfortable. Logic dictates that the drop must make it ever so stiffer, but it's quite hard to discern.

Overall very happy with them now that the 4 X 4 look has been removed!
