Auto Start/Stop - Disable?
How many have disabled this feature? Have used it for 8 years on my F80 M3 with no adverse effect on engine wear or starter but on this one, I am leaning towards disabling.
Thoughts? |

I hate it. It's been off since day 1.

Think it was literally the first button I pressed when getting my car after starting it up

When driving around town in stop n’ go traffic in the Comfort/Efficient settings, I leave the Auto Start/Stop (ASS) on. Our engines are at their least efficient under these conditions and ASS is specifically designed for these situations. Otherwise I turn it off…

Confirming, once off, the ASS stays off? In the M50i I had to disable it every time in I started it - in the X5MC, it was off since I took delivery, and it has stayed off. Just confirming that's how it works in the MC, or if I'm just lucky

FWIW - I just took delivery of my X5 on Monday - that ASS has not been active. It's off and has stayed off.

On my M50i it is off by default in sport mode. I don't mind it if am driving in comfort or eco.
Would be interested to know if it can be disabled by default though. |

In my m50i I had to turn it off each time I started, in my X5MC, it stays off (which I did not know prior to purchasing it) - there's no business paring ASS with an 8 cylinder.

Anyone know if this can be coded to stay off in the S68 cars? Seems like they removed the X5/6MC’s ability to save the ASS state in 2024 model year going forward. It’s driving me nuts, because it shuts the engine off before car is at a complete stop, which jolts it to a stop.
