I asked my broker to chase their dealer for news on my order. Granted, it’s in Poland and won’t say much, but it’ll be some datapoint nonetheless

Certainly not a “Big” demand but some significant demand level exists. Some, like me, want to nab a V8 because it may be the last. Lotsa love for the M60i on this forum.

Still have an other 2 1/2 years until EOP for the current G05/F95. I have leased a V8 X5, either M sport or X5M, for the past 10 years as the V8 has never had a “demand” and has been easy to secure an allocation-except recently probably due to the X7/X6/X5 V8 variants now sharing a common engine, S68. I suspect that shutting down the V8 engine production in Munich and shifting to the UK for V8 production has something to do with current shortage of allocations due to either supply chain vendor and/or transportation across the Atlantic. The November/December 2023 V8 allocation builds were from excess engine inventory as I believe that BMW Manufacturing Co has a buffer supply of around 200 engines for Hall 50 production.

The “demand” has always been the I-6 X5 models as I suspect this is over 80% of current X5 builds for the US market.

A dealer I had previously spoken to (did not buy from) reached out to me today. They said they have an allocation for an X5M.

I went with an M60i so I no longer need a vehicle. PM me if interested and I’ll be happy to connect.

Yes, sometimes within a model they can. The X5M and M60i aren't the same model or series.

Sadly, no allocation for me. Response from dealer: "allocation availability unknown. Country importer has no information"

What dealership. How long were you in the order bank?

BMW of West Houston. Not sure what the order bank is but, as I said, put the order in at the middle to end of December.

So yeah that was a December allocation, for January build. There were no allocations in January for February buids. We have to wait for February allocations which would be for Week 9-13(est)

His should be a January allocation since it is for a February build.

Yeh. My understanding is that it was a Jan allocation - they were waiting for the allocations to come out new year

The timing would suggest that, if it was a December allocation you wouldn't have had to wait and received the production number when your order was put in. From the info I got, there were M60i allocations in January but not as many as usual.

Yes, I am saying it was a January allocation. I received the production number on the 4th of Jan.
