I have debated back and forth about the brakes and if I dont get them, I am not likely to loose sleep over them, I'd prefer to have the vehicle sooner if that were to delay.
I had a week 46. Added Parking Assistance... I ended up shifting out to week 48. I believe that was due to a shortage in camera parts that were associated with Parking Assistance. I added Acoustic Glass a few weeks later and the build week stayed put. YRMV

I added M-Sports Brakes yesterday and today my week 49 build moved to Production Begins and I received a VIN.
A couple of weeks ago I added Acoustic Glass and that didn't change the week either.

Thanks.
Unfortunately for me, he just changed and went to week 50
Oh well. He warned of risks.

Week 49 means complete production next week - the SOP 12/18 options have started this week to be built - if you have a week 49 car it should start production and get a built this week. Mine started yesterday with some SOP 12/18 options and I called and has an estimate to complete on 12/5

Yeah - not surprising. It's too bad the online tracker doesn't provide a better experience. Others have had this same experience - stuck in production begins.... then, boom - pass go, collect $200 - you're Awaiting Carrier Assignment.

You can't get too hung up on the website status. the Automated line's completion date seems to be pretty accurate.

It has been that way for 10 years - I think my last car actually got one update that it was in the paint shop between beginning and end but that was it.

I called the automated system and was told mine will be out of production on 11/30. However, I am still not able to download the manual or driver's guide.

I entered my VIN but keep getting a message that the guide is not ready. Must I wait until 11/30 to download the guide?

Seriously - do they change the guide daily so can't give you a previous one??? Maybe they are changing it to include some of the stuff that was not available until 12/18 and their technical writer is working right up to the wire!

Garage List
Just find a similar model on a new inventory dealer web site and use that VIN to download the manual.

Nice! If you call BMW Genius number they will not be able to tell you the estimated date of completion - mine started yesterday and I called and 12/5 is my estimated completion date, so guessing your should be 12/6 then.

thanks !

You will most likely get to enjoy your new ride a couple weeks sooner then mind.
They told me that it may take up to a 2 weeks after production for west coast dealer to receive their cars. Then they have to ship it to my home in California. May be I will get it just before New Year !

You guys are all funny, essentially complaining about how fast BMW builds these such that the tracker can't keep up with the actual production. I'm in the same boat, watching the tracker at least twice a day, but I know it'll be here soon.

Speaking of boats, try ordering a car built in Germany. We ordered our 7 series, and were able to watch every step to include watching the container ship move -- very slowly -- across the Atlantic. There's a separate program to watch the ship's actual progress while at sea. But tracking it mile by mile didn't make the wait any less frustrating, at least for me.

No way I know of tracking it, I believe they fill trains for transport across country, so that is a little slower as they have to fill an entire train instead of just a truck for east coast deliveries. It can sometimes sit more like a week to get on a train and then a week to get across to the west coast and then another few days on the truck. 2ish is probably a good guess, could be a bit less or more.

My F15 took 3 days to NH which was really fast, must have got on a truck very quickly - I usually assume about a week - obviously NJ is 4-6 hours closer to the factory also than the Boston area.

So if a truck got competed today you could potentially be driving it home on Tuesday? Wow
