Also i had to post my experience here.
Mine is a 2020 X6 G06 xdrive 40i m sport....
Right now it has 58,000 kilometers.... around 36,000 miles on the clock.
Original owner... bought it on november 2019..
Obviously sincee it lived during the pandemic... we didnt drive the car much... until around 2021 more less...
First strange symptom was a very weiird fron tire accelerated wear.. horribly fast.. outer edges.... to the thread.... then on july 2023.... it only had around 35,000 kilometers - 21,000 miles.... the shudder began... dealer changed the fluid... but never ssaid... come back after the 250 miles that you have to drive .... wellll... sadly my father was the driver ... and he isnt very aware of the sounds and feeling of the car... aka... bad owner... i didn't know about the transfercase issues of the car.... and on july of 2024... i started driving the car.... not much attention was given to the driveline... and on nov of 2024... warranty was over... asked the dealer for a complete inspection.... and all they did... was report that no oil leaks where seen.... fast foward... feb 2025.... and the shudders camee... i doo have to say that we did what bmw says not to do....
Panama has very bad streets and every pothole we fell... represented on a new tire... and ass you know... ypu have to replace both tires once ... 1 is damaged... well we did it... until no tires where available... so we had to change use a different brand in the front vs the rear...
We rolled on pirellis pz4....
Tgen we had to run front michelin ps4s.. and rearz pirellis pz4... but they dont have the same diameter... and that worsened the transfercase wear... until now i wasnt aware of allthis... then he damaged another tire... and put a michelkin with a pirelli upfront....
Miss match tires around....
So right now the dealer said:...
You have to buy a new set of tires... so yeah we bpught 4 new tires... 2.6k on 4 pirellis here in panama....
They said they were gonna change the fluid ... but i told themmm the fluid was already changed on 2023.... it means it needs a replacement of the transfercase...
No answer has come back from bmw since last week... ill keep you posted
