X5 xDrive45e and Driving Assistant Professional package
Hi - I am looking to purchase the BMW X5 xDrive45e in the United States. When I go through the "Build your own" feature on the BMW website, I do not see an option to add the Driving Assistant Professional Package. I do see the Parking Assistance Package.
However, when I attempt to custom build the BMW X5 xDrive40i, I do see the option to add the Driving Assistant Professional Package. My questions are: Are theDriving Assistant Professional Package features built in to the standard features in the xDrive45e? If not, are there any other options or any other way to get that package installed when ordering? Thank you for your help. |

Give it some time. The options just disappeared on Friday. MY 22 is around the corner and the configurator will probably update soon-ish. They are probably saving the packages and parts for MY22 production.

I do understand that they are trying to maintain prices while compensating for a loss of functionality due to the supply chain shortages, but maybe I will now have to wait a year to buy a new car when the functions that I really want in the vehicle are available again. |

Also, it seems you know the packages and features for MY22. Is that public information available somewhere? Thank you. |

Despite this, one of the SA's I'm working with is claiming DAPP is not "available" for MY22 despite being in the ordering guide. Hope they're wrong. My deal for a 21 45e also fell through for the same reason.

I would assume that is the situation. The option is in the ordering guide but there is a temporary production constraint on it.

It's insane to me that BMW charges for this feature let alone thinks it's acceptable to strip it out as an option on a car that costs this much. Baseline subarus and Toyotas have this stuff in them. This tech is standard in every Volvo.

I was told the same by a salesperson at the local BMW dealership. Kinda confusing if I should wait or find a different car. Hopefully things will be clear soon.

If there's a silver lining (if you can call it that), even if the configurator was showing DAPP, I'm not sure you would have been able to order a MY21 45e. As far as I can tell, dealers don't really have any allocations. Best of luck, hopefully you're able to order soon! |

Im waiting as well. I have a deposit down since May, but all '21 allocations have dried up. If my dealer is to be believed (and I think they are), we wont start to see '22 allocations until July, with production beginning in August. So I dont think they really know yet.
If its not present when that time comes, though, I'll cancel. DAPP is a must-have for me. I'll wait until it comes back. You can replace your HiFi stereo with Bavsound in a few hours, but you can't retrofit this incredibly useful safety feature. |

They are continuing to build MY21 vehicles until they switch over to the start of MY22 production. Any vehicles that are being built before the first week of August will be resource constrained... i.e. if they run out of something that they need for an August build, I suspect that it will be cut from the build so that they have for the new MY vehicles. Unusual times...

The configurator does not reflect MY22 ordering, that changeover usually doesn't happen until a month or so into the new MY. Of course this year it may be sooner.

As for timing, my '21 45e is scheduled for completion July 21st (Week 29). I have a VIN assigned and nothing was removed from a fairly loaded M Sport build.
