Good question. So honestly, sometimes, I am somewhat of a fast drinker. It doesn't have long enough to get watered down.
If I know I may be sipping on it for longer with say a cigar, I won't even add ice.
I do have chiller cubes that are stainless steel if I want to be perfect.

Because there is no way in Hades we could be! This rum is about the tastiest liquor one could ever drink. I mean even if you don't care for the taste/flavor profile (which is very pleasant) it is far from pungent, bitter, or strong.
I am confused hoss...

Can't wait to have my first cigar of the season. Haven't had one since Sept / Oct of last year. Weather is finally warming up (around 59 Fahrenheit most days), though of course, last weekend was around 42 or so which was cooler than I preferred to sit outside for a full cigar, which is usually around 1 hr.

I like having ice but if the cubes have been in freezer for a while have to worry about them adding crap flavor as they melt

Oh for fricks sake - I just looked up the 14 day forecast - the next two weekends aren't going to get beyond a high of 53F, and most of them are going to be high of 44F.

There goes my plans for a cigar.

This is why keeping your 'water filters' replaced is VERY important!

By the way guys... If you can find this El Pasador XO, I highly recommend it!
I definitely will add it to my regular rotation.

Use bottled water, and put the tray inside a plastic bag that you seal up, once frozen, store them in a closed bag.

Then let them sit there for a year while you drink Single Malt. OK, I do use them to cool the water, or when I'm 'rotating stock' and making Black Tooth Grins out of the stuff I don't like; and of course, the occasional rum drink.

Ended up with just one 'Rita on Cinco de Mayo. Sis made them way too strong or sour or something. They just didn't work. So I switched to the Plantation Pineapple Rum which I picked up when I was grabbing the 'Rita fixin's. I surprised myself and finished half the bottle of rum. I rarely drink that much. The next day I remembered why I rarely drink that much.

Failsafe, easy to remember 'Rita recipe that comes out perfectly everytime, just remember 3-2-1........3 parts tequila, 2 parts freshly squeezed lime juice, 1 part triple sec. I'm not a professional drinker, I just play one in real life.

Depending where in Ontario you are, next time you are in Cuba and if you wanted to pick up some cigars for me (from one of the government stores - not the back alley knockoffs), let me know. Be willing to pay a reasonable "transport" fee on top of the price!

PM me if interested.
