2022 X5M floor mat changes?
I'm looking at getting replacement floormats for my 2022 X5m.
Looking at multiple listings i'm showing that they are held in by a hook. On my car the factory ones are held on with two sided velcro (round circles on the floor) has this changed and will any of the big name mats fit? I also notice BMW doesn't offer them for sale from what I can see. Examples: https://www.weathertech.com/bmw/2022...er-digitalfit/ and https://www.amazon.com/TuxMat-Custom...=A558BFU7FHDDD |

In this picture there are two holes. I contacted weathertech and they state the mats come with a hook that velcro's to the stock carpet.
That is what I was asking |

I have the weathertech mats and really like them. The hooks provided with the mats stick up and connect to the mats. I wouldn't get another brand.

This pic shows the underside of the Velcro floor mat anchors where you can see the bayonet that gets inserted though the slits in the carpet and anchored to the floor pan: The weather tech mats that have the two holes in them…should use a hook that probably has a bayonet on the other end or it screws into the carpet if you don’t have slits…either type does the same thing as the Velcro pad…it gets inserted through the slit in the carpet and hooks into the floor pan. You then insert those hooks through the holes in the weather tech mats…which will secure the mats to the floor to prevent slippage. The pic below shows the two types of floor anchors weather tech uses…if you have the slits in your carpet, then request the bayonet type. If you don’t have the slits in the carpet…then request the screw in type;

do you like the tuxmats? weathertech mats in florida tend to get all hard and plasticky after a while - curious if tuxmats have the same feeling. and by hard and plasticky i liken it to the mats you used to put under office chairs to make them roll smoother. eventually they were just hard and cracked

No the tuxmax are nice. They pick up dirt well and are easy to clean.
I have a set of weathertechs in my other vehicle and they are good for the use but the tuxmat's are much nicer in the BMW. |
