Sad to hear.
The radio was playing one of his songs we listened to in High School, I now know why.

I rewatched his Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction, Jimmy Page introduced him and praised him greatly. They knew each other since the age of 13 or 14 and remained friends all these years. Imagine if Jeff had a band like the other greats instead of going off on his own, he's a legend despite that and did it his own way. Like he said, "I hate lead singers".

One of the few rock concerts I attended: 1969 in Alexandria, Virginia with Jeff Beck (Rod Stewart vocalist) and with Janis Joplin with Big Brother & the Holding Company. Epic.

Reflections on Jeff Beck from a dear friend of mine.
Jazz Fest in New Orleans is possibly the most magical place and time that ever existed on earth. The town is filled with iconic musicians. The air is warm and everyone is celebrating the music. Anything you dream of can happen, and it often did. Midnight, May 2, 2010… I was walking into a party just as Jeff Beck was walking out. He said he liked my dress (picture #1) at that moment a cat appeared in the driveway and we both said “Kitty!!” Jeff is a big animal lover and actually had a sanctuary on his property in England. I picked up the cat and he asked if he could take a picture of me. He and his crew were leaving that night for their next shows so I never expected to see him again but I remember thinking what a dear person he seemed to be as well as a total rock Icon. I was thrilled to have met him even for a brief moment. Fast forward to Jazz Fest 2011… Jeff must have loved New Orleans so much he played again the next year. I went to see the show of course, (picture #2) but never in my wildest imagination did I think I’d get another chance to meet him. When the show ended I started to leave and that’s when Mark and Laure Starring, who had thrown the party the year before, found me. Mark said “Suzie!! We’ve been looking all over for you! There’s someone who wants to see you!” They took me backstage and there was Jeff, holding his phone with my picture on it. He had kept it for an entire year and had been asking everyone if they knew who I was and where he could find me 😻 I just threw my arms around him and we hugged for the longest time, like long lost friends ❤️ He said they were all going out to dinner that night and would I please please please join them. Then he literally got down on one knee and began to sing ”Don’t Let Me Down” !!! Total Cinderella story 💖 We had so much fun staying out all night in the French Quarter, watching Trombone Shorty at the House of Blues from the side of the stage, and finally saying goodbye at 4 AM when their tour bus had to leave for Florida. He called me the next day and left a voicemail, I can still hear his sweet voice saying “You know what, your phone number has the same last four digits as my Mum’s” 🤣 A truly precious and lovely human being as well as perhaps the greatest guitar genius of our time. I was blessed to have known him. R.I.P. JB
