When I was at the dealer last week I asked her to print out the notice information. She said she could not but she hand wrote the notices and she referred to all of them as recalls.
Perhaps we have had a change in their vernacular on how they deal with service bulletins |

Phone charging pad issue was different and unrelated to the firmware update. As I recall it was related to bad charging pads that had to be replaced.

AHA, same thing my dealer told me when I gave them my VIN to make an appointment to have the software updated. The SA referred to 3 "recalls". I was going to question him but figured WTH I need to bring the damn vehicle in anyway. This thread pretty well explains that these are not "recalls" but are campaigns analagous to a TSB. Thanks, OP for this post.

Take note of the "/" between the words "Mfr Campaign/Safety Recall Notice".
The "/" denotes "or". So, this is BMW's way of combining two possible issues into one. It can mean it's a "Recall" OR it can mean it's a "Mfr Campaign". In some cases it can mean "either, or, and possibly both depending how that forward "/" is used in the sentence. |

Did you just get service? Not gonna lie, I’ve forgot to turn auto back on and drove right when it started getting dark. It’s amazing how “smart” vehicles have become regarding options that were once manual.

Do the cornering lights turn on gradually? I'm used to my VW, where it is very obvious when the lights turn on. I've had all of the updates, including the one referenced in the first post to activate them. I'm not sure if what I'm seeing is the cornering lights or just the adaptive headlights.

While parked, turn on your blinker and turn the wheel all the way to the left and the cornering light should go on. You can get out and verify that the cornering light LED is lit.

Cornering lights are triggered in two ways: 1, Turn signals; 2, Steering wheel turning angle. So to see them in action, with car switched on and parked, turn steering wheel to either side 40° or more, or turn either side turn indicator on, then step out and enjoy |

That is not correct for the X5, as well as some other models. The cornering lights are not triggered with the turn signals alone. |
