Just ordered X5 xDrive45e

For the moment I still have a BMW X6 30d F16, Sapphire Black. The car will become 5 years next year so I ordered the X5 xDrive45e. I wanted the new X6 but my dealership told me there won't come a X6 plugin hybrid. So I ordered the X5. I choose the plugin hybrid for fiscal and tax reasons.

The X5 looks beautiful but for some reason the X6 is more attractive to me I hope I won't regret the decision to order the X5 45e and that 45e will drive nicely with enough power. I'm a bit anxious about it

Option list is:
- Artic Grey
- Merino black
- 742 M 22" Jetblack rims
- M Sport pack
- Exclusive pack
- Innovation Pack

It's almost full option.

Car should be delivered in March 2020.

But I'm still in doubt about the color. I like Sapphire black very much but it can drive me crazy So I hope the Arctic Grey can give me more peace of mind
Or maybe the Merino coffee interior instead of the black interior.

Hopefully BMW does not announce a X6 plugin hybrid in 2020 or I will go nuts

9 month wait? That seems a very long time. Great spec!

Yes, the 45e is not in production yet. Production will start end of August or begin September my dealer said. They expect the first 45e's in January or February in my country.

You will regret not getting the X6, it’s so agrresive looking and the X5 is plain.

Says a guy with an X4. Some people like SUVs that look like coupes and they are willing to pay extra to have less space.

Personally, I love the look of the G05 and I don't think of it as plain at all. That said, I would never consider an X4 or an X6.

All great cars to me. It's just a matter of taste.

The poster has an X6 loves the new X6, the fact he is worried of regret on the X5 is a perfect recipe for buyers remorse. He should take his time to be sure.

My heart says X6, my mind says X5. But in the end it all comes down to taxes and fiscality. I’m not willing to pay the state many thousands of dollars per year extra anymore just because I drive an X5/X6 with petrol or diesel engine. This is the only reason I choose a plugin hybrid and only X5 is in plugin hybrid available. Even my 5 year old X6 will cost taxwise much more than a brand new more expensive plugin hybrid. I stopped being a government cash cow.

I ordered the 45e 2 weeks ago, and it should be delivered in feb.
A Collegue ordered 2 months ago, and his will be delivered in nov/dec.

We have to take the transport to Belgium into account, which is like 5-6 weeks...

I think my X3 x20d is a very, very good car, but the new X5 45e will be a lot cheaper (tax wise).

The only thing I buy with my heart is a new car, but taxes on your end is also an issue must be tough for you now have to settle. The X5 is a nice car still it’s my 3rd option to replace my ageing car and salivating on this even though I said I am not buying another coupe suv, decisions decisions...

I hope not. When I ordered mine last February they were stating a September/October delivery. Last I heard was delivery in November 2019.

Around 80K euro for base x45e

You can easily end up above 100K and even go up till 120-130K is you go for Individual options / M performance additions

These prices include sales tax by the way, but is does feel quite expensive if I read the MRSP's here on the board.

But to be fair, the 45e is a great buy in Belgium given our tax system on cars

Make sure you have seen an Arctic Grey in the flesh - I have it and think it looks great most of the time. But it is a grey-blue instead of a straight grey. When dirty it even looks a little purple.

L2 charging rate of X5 45e?

Hi there-

Has anyone who has ordered the 45e know what charge rate it accepts using Level 2 charging? The 40e we have only supports 3.2kWh L2. I am hoping (counting on?) the 45e to support 7.4kWh, but no where does BMW actual provide that detail (I scoured the bmw.co.uk site and the X5 brochure which just has optional home charging stations listed). I know the 745e (similar but about 50% less battery capacity) only supports 3.2kWh charging still. Thanks!

Everything I've seen says 2020 as a 2021 model. So that would probably mean close to a year from now. Strange.

The charge rate is the same for 45e as for 40e. Only support 3.2 kWh.
