Does anyone know the charging capability of the new 45e using regenerative braking only? The F15 e40 capped the regenerative braking charge at ~54% which was really annoying. An Achilles heal in my opinion.

That said, I would absolutely get the new X5 hybrid when it comes out. Unfortunately our lease on the F15 ended a year before the e45 is due out so we got the 2019 40i, which I love, but I regret getting the 22" rims. They look great, but there's a noticeable difference in drive feel. I would probably get 20's or 21's if I had the choice again.

Do you have air suspension?

I didn't testdrive with 22" but only with 21" RFT and no air suspension and it was quite alright.

I still have time to change to 21" so would be grateful for your feedback on the 22".

45e receives 2 axle air suspension by default.
I pre-ordered mine in feb, had to change interior leather (cognac) the 3rd of june. and applied at the same time the individual color "tansanit blau II". I was initially told (in feb) the car would be available in october, but it is now planned at dealer week 51. I guess because of the ext color change (individual).

I've seen a couple of pics of X5 G05 in that color; look great.

I believe I have the adaptive M suspension that comes with the M package. I've had quite a few people ask me about the 22's. I think using the word regret was too strong. I love the car and it rides great, I just noticed a big difference between the F15 with 20's and the G05 with 22's, so in my mind, the 21's would be the happy medium. I certainly don't think you'd be making a mistake with the 22's, especially if you get the Air suspension. One of the biggest differences I noticed is turning the wheels at crawling speeds to park or maneuver in or out of a spot.

I ordered my 45e in August in the UK and I'm told it will be at the dealer in week 47, so not much logic to delivery times there! I've gone for Tanzanite Blue II as well, but in the UK there is no Cognac and the only interior colours are black, white or coffee :-(

Also pre-ordered in February.. dealer told me end of October/beginning of November..

haven't heard from him since July though.. just sent an e-mail last friday to ask if it's on its way yet.. awaiting their response.
Might just have to pick up the phone tomorrow, because reading all the news of week 41 deliveries has got me HYPED.

Hoping for a surprise phone call any day to tell me its waiting for me to be picked up..

Anyone in Belgium took delivery of their 45e yet?

First vehicles arrived with dealers. Will start delivering them this week. In an other thread one user posted images of his 45e parked at the dealership.

Expecting mine in 3 weeks, ordered in February.

So let me get this right. They're building the car in the US, shipping it to EU, and still, US delivery is 6 months behind? For what god forsaken reason is that?

My X5 lease is up, and I'm not getting another petrol-only SUV. Even looked at the 530e, but the fact that they neutered the 2L 4-cyl down to 180-some hp and put a 12gal tank in IN ADDITION to cutting the trunk space infuriates me like hell.

I guess they prioritize because the market for hybrids is hotter in the EU at the moment (due to tax incentives mainly)...
Before they alter the tax regimes again they want to sell as much hybrid as possible i think...

But I feel your pain!

Also, starting next year, Euroopan manufacturers will pay huge fines if the average CO2 emissions of cars sold in EU don’t go down as required. Hybrids are the most important way to reduce fines.

Thanks! My dealer told me there would be a bump in the trunk due to the batteries but it looks completely flat. Can you also confirm if the trunk cargo cover can be stowed away under the floor board.

This earlier picture by PaulusBMW confirms that it can be hidden under the floor. See this thread for more details.

Great execution of the 'e' on the X5, near twice the range of the 330e, 530e and X3 30e, yet still keeps the flat floor and still stores the tonneau cover.

Perfect!

I'd be hoping that little storage space there at the back would be just right for something cable and plug sized (EDIT no wait I see it in the earlier pic off to the right).

And in mode 3 +/- 6 hours?

You can't speed charge it like a Tesla?

You can't charge it as fast as tesla, for that the car need to support 3 phases charging.

So yes your calculations are correct. If it would support 3 phase charging liek a tesla it would charge in 1 hour ..
