X5M vs X5M Comp - Spec and pricing differences
I have spec'd both the normal and comp versions and I'm not sure if I'm getting this right.
Competition package costs ~15k USD, which contains the following: Ext. leather package 809M Wheels Comptetition package (whatever this row means) Alcantara headliner M Seatbelts M Sport Exhaust (not sure if it's worth anything, since the new EU regulations came out) Buying all this separately would cost about ~10k USD. Would I be paying 5k extra for some blacked out bits and +17 hp or am I missing something? |

Were did you get $15k? I see the base X5M at $105100 and the Comp at $114,100 so that is a difference of $9000. This is in the US though. I would say that most of us would want something besides the standard black/black interior and that is a $3500 upgrade so basically you are paying $5500 for exhaust, exclusive wheels, some extra blacked out parts, exclusive seat belts and some emblems.

To be exact, comp package costs 13 500 EUR, buying all the stuff separately (including extended white/brown whatever you want leather, wheels, seatbelts etc.) is around 8 800 EUR |

Just to clarify, is there anything more than blacked out badges and some +hp?
None of the things like on the m5? (Upgraded suspension for example, modified this and that) |

the suspension is set up differently too just like all competition models. the upgrades do more than the text suggests. go drive an M5 and M5C or M4/M4C and you'll see what I mean. Yes, it's a big price jump where you're at but whether or not you'll drive it in a manner to take advantage of those things is another story

For the M5 and M5C, it is clearly stated that the suspension is different and stiffer. For the X5M and X5MC, they don't mention ANY change to the suspension, at all. |

I wonder this as well. In the spec sheet, there was no mention of different suspension in the competition model. So are changes just cosmetic?

After all the reviews finally published - did anyone confirm that the suspension on x5 M comp is different vs base X5 M.
now that we know that x5M comp rides stiff (as expected) would like to know about regular x5 M base X5m looks better and better if that's the case. - 21s are definitely preferable over staggered 21/22 (never understood that selection) just makes buying tires super expensive and ruins the ride. - black interior with extended leather - is no cost option. I still with they gave more regular options on the base x5M like - standard multi contour seats and trailer hitch. |

Can anyone who ordered a comp over base model explain their thought process?
I just built a base model X5m how I would want and it came out to $1k over the MSRP of a comp with zero options. Besides blacked out parts and the badge I can't see why everyone hops on the comp model. |

+17 HP 21" Front and 22" Rear wheels, Style 809M or 818M Rear roof spoiler M Sport exhaust Additional knee padding on center console Full Merino leather interior Track setting M seat belts Extended shadowline exterior trim The way I built my X5MC, the MSRP is $4,850 more than a similarly built X5M, but the X5M doesn't include the above Competition goodies.

Here in Canada competition in no brainer, 9000 Ca$, which is around 6000 $ or euros.
With competition you get individual leather with 0$(usually 5000$ option), which is must have option for me. Power bump 25hp, better wheels, just exhaust upgrade would be that kind of money. Overall it is better looking model, inside and outside, plus other small details like M seatbelts, alcantra etc For suspension i don't know if there is difference.

1.4. Vehicle profile for Competition model Chassis and suspension/driving dynamics setup: Adaptive M suspension with even stiffer characteristics (Technical Training Product Information F97/F98, p.5) In addition Car and Driver stated that the competition package receives larger anti-roll bars. I'm assuming all of this will apply to the X5M comp vs base. |

By the time you spec out the non Comp to include the leather interior / upgraded wheels the price is within a stone throw away so you might as well. I think it was maybe 5K difference give or take. The exhaust alone was worth it.

If you compare the standard 2020 X5M with just extended leather not full leather versus the X5MC with just these two options 1)executive package and 2)driver assistance the cost difference is $9000. That's alot of money $111,395 versus $120,395. Even if you get full leather on the standard X5M the price difference is still $5500.

For standard x5m you can add "sport exhaust" for about 2200EUR. Should be the same as the competition has just chrome pipes.

Few questions for those who know:
1 - what is track mode? 2 - how much stiffer is Comp suspension? How much easier is non-comp to drive? I have a 2018 X5M and am ok with the ride. I always picked smaller rims and would elect to go with base model rims on the comp anyway. NYC roads just kill big rims. but I do like the idea of getting the top model |
