BMW Connected

Hi All

Each time I get in the car I'm greeted by a welcome message on the central display ”Welcome” & then my email address. Anyone know how I change that so that it says my name rather than an impersonal email address? I'm sure it's something to do with my BMW connected account but I can't find anything in the settings.

Not sure how the UK site is laid out but check for your first name under personal data under My Account. I think you can edit that.

Can't speak to the X5, but in my 2020 X3MC, that info was in iDrive under Profiles I believe. Now mine says "Welcome Dave,"

I did a test and this worked. I changed my first name on the CD site and now when I get into the X5 the welcome message has the updated first name.

I've been using Nickname, also set in the CD web site, and it has been working for me.

Tried both methods & doesn't seem to have worked but maybe it will take time for the site To update to the car. Thanks guys.

No, I changed it to a version of my first name but TurtleBoy works also.

Can the welcome screen be skipped to automatically go directly to "Home" though?

coded a few things the other day. one was welcome screen to say BMW. got a message that said this would not show all the time, but "under certain circumstances" or something like that. i've seen it a few times since, but got in the car yesterday and the screen showed a grey-ish 3D like image of a city landscape??! never saw that before. didn't pay much attention as i typically don't, and went away pretty quickly. anyone else see this?

Mine does that when the Nav system is booting up, usually following an idrive reset.

Hello all, I am working with a friend of mine trying to change the name displayed on the welcome screen. From the driver profiles page in the X5, it says that the name can be changed from the Connected Drive customer portal. On the online portal, the only way I can see possible to change the name is by calling BMW customer relations. I and others have called a few times now and found no resolution. How did you change the welcome name to TurtleBoy? Has there been a change to connecteddrive accounts since the original post that makes this impossible? Any and all advise is appreciated, thanks.

A user can no longer change the name since the functions on the ConnectedDrive website were moved to the MyBMW site. Calling them and getting the right person seems to be the only way to change the name.
