I would go back to the black wheels. Personal preference and entirely subjective. Are you tinting your fronts? I had my dealer tint mine to state maximum, 35% here, and honestly I'm underwhelmed at the change in appearance.

I wasn't planning on tinting the fronts. Same legal percentage here, so good knowing you aren't that impressed. It would have to match the rear to make a true change in appearance IMO

You've got a sharp looking vehicle. Post if you decide to tint. I'm curious to see if it's more "matched" at 35% on a darker exterior. Below is mine for reference. Edit: if and when I decide to scrape these and seek a legal tint exemption, I'll post. I just don't care to be unnecessarily pulled over.

Before I purchased the F85 I had heavily optioned F15 50i and the MSRP was $93,145 before destination and tax. Considering the X7 will be tipping the scales around $110k or so when optioned heavily as well I suspect the M50i will most likely be around $100k before destination, fees and taxes.

I was referring to the F15 50i and it's pricing since jiggz mentioned the difference in pricing between previous and upcoming.

At dealer this past week servicing wife's F15 and drove a $97K G05 while waiting. Asked GM about M50i (530hp) for 2020MY in X5 and X7 and he said there is mixed signals from BMW. He does not think it is coming to X models because they want to keep it more exclusive for higher products like 8/7 series. Anyone else hear if 530hp M50i coming in 2020? Hoping it happens for 2020 when I am ready to order X7 or X5...

My dealer stated the time line is still undetermined for the M50i. BMW modified the current V8TT just for the new 50i so they might want more than one year of use out of it.
I am not really interested as the ride of my current 50i M-Sport is as sporting as I would ever want in a SUV. The M50i will probably be harsher. A full blown X5M will be way too hard of a ride and would be misarable driving to south Florida every year. I still need luxury with my muscle and that’s what the current 50i delivers. Look at it this way, we are getting 4.0-4.3 seconds 0-60mph. A Cayenne Turbo does it in 3.9 seconds. I am about .1 to .2 seconds slower with a much better ride. I am not loosing any sleep over any performance gains a X5M might have in comparison to a 50i M-Sport. Down the road, I am sure the V8TT 50i could be tuned to hypercar levels if the desire was there. I'm with you about full M x5. I do not believe in full M treatment for SUVs. Compromising on comfort and utility and not being able to track it - kills an M car for me. If i can not take it to the track - I'm not buying an M. Im |

I love full blown M cars but for my needs a performance SUV has got to be a road warrior. It will be interesting to see how hard the suspension is tweaked for the M50i. If it’s anything like the M40, it will be too harsh.
My dealer just got in a M5CS and has been inviting me down as “It has my name on it” they say. I probably shouldn’t go down and drive it. I am happy with my C4S but the power of the M5. Last edited by MystroX5; 02-23-2019 at 09:58 AM.. |

If I went hard core track rat again, I would just go with a GT3 and leave it set up for track duties. If I was consolidating my vehicles, the M5 would be at the top of my list. If the trunk was bigger, I wouldn’t need a X5 for trips but the reality is no trunk can swallow up my families luggage for a long vacation. One of the reasons I left my A8. Just bought the 50i M-Sport outright so the last thing I need is a M5 payment. Last edited by MystroX5; 02-23-2019 at 10:16 AM.. |

2020 M50i - all-season or performance tires?
Any thoughts?
I am also weighing a 2019/2020 lease. Need all-season tires. Since I lease I do not have a desire for a summer/winter set of tires/rims.

At least x5 v8 had a good run (10 months) until MY2020 replacement. Look at x7. Only allowed to be delivered on March 1 as MY2019. And in July being replaced with MY2020 with the new v8. Four (4) months!!! And this car really needs a v8. So,dealers might not be disclosing any MY2020 info since they have to sell this car for 4 months with 70 less HP Last edited by Ilyam5; 02-24-2019 at 01:14 PM.. |

Just saw this thread... have been talking to dealers about replacing my wife's 2015 X5 3.5 … took the 2019 X5 5.0i out for a test drive... was awesome... but if it appears there will be a M50i out in just a few months i think i will hold off... either get the M50i or perhaps there may be some great deals on the 2019 5.0i once the 2020 MY is released

I saw you posted on my wall. The M50i is going to happen based on everything read here and elsewhere, along with BMW's latest marketing strategy. Definitely hold off Quote:
