Cargo Mat

I just picked up my X5 from the dealership on 12/14 (I was a week 49). The X5 is amazing. I purchased the rubber cargo mats (front and rear) from the dealership and they are great. Can someone please recommend a cargo mat—- I believe BMW currently only makes them for those X5's with third row seats.

Same. Not really liking it though, because I am constantly accessing the storage area under the cargo space (trailer hitch and other things stored there). The BMW liner's side edges scrape against the cargo area's side walls on the way up and down - the latter being an issue because it ends up contorted/bending and needs to be readjusted/re-seated every time. Not a great design. If you never access the under-cargo space, it's just fine.

Yeah I have never opened the storage space under the cargo floor.

My wife has the cargo mat. I had to open the cargo floor cover to check the diameter of the tow hook. I told my wife see I dont like this when you raise the floor and the lower it the mat gets all screwed up. She said oh watch this, she proceeded to pull the mat towards her about 6 inches and then slid it back in and it was perfect again. When I would mess up the mat I would have to reach all the way in the back and push the sides and corners back down. She just slides it out and back in and its perfect.

You want part number 51472458567. I originally ordered 51472458568 (note last number on the part I ordered was an 8 and it should have been a 7). Huge mistake on my part and now I have to eat the cost of shipping it back. I misunderstood Option 418 luggage compartment. I thought this meant X5 without a 3rd row seat.

How do you like the cargo mat? Does it fit well? I have one in our 2016 X5 and I am not overly thrilled with it- doesn't fit great.

What's the logic behind the design they used for the cargo mat? Is it to aid in sliding items in the back and then provide friction on the sides only?

Seems a bit odd

It fits well and takes us the entire rear space, from side to side and front to back. It does not have sides like a tray e.g. the WeatherTech design, it is more like a mat. It will be fine for dirt, etc. while it will hold a little liquid since the sides are not to high I don't think it would hold too much.

Most of us new X5 purchasers should be BMW CCA members (with the $1,000 rebate offer) so be sure to tell the dealer because they will give you 10-15% off the price.

Curious to know what the cargo mat would look like for the G05 equipped with the 418 Luggage Compartment option.
