I got my remote start installed through software upgrade as well as the corner light. To do remote start you need to press the key lock button 3 times and hold on the 3rd one, car will start, and then when you get in you need to push the start button in the mid console to activate the car. Very cool

Mine was working fine until yesterday but all of sudden it's stop working from app. Remote start through key fob works fine

Another here working fine for weeks until I tried yesterday and got "Failed".

The CD support team are f&*king useless too. They just email boiler plate responses, usually to unrelated issues.

I tried the remote start few mins ago and it's working again through app. Look like there was glitch on their end.

I dont get it. My April built car which is still on .35 version has remote start.

I mean I can start the car using fob as well as Connected app iphone (Not Android phone yet) form anywhere.

Why you need car to stay on more then 15 min?

Does anyone know if there is anyway to get remote start enabled through coding if you didn't buy the upgrade packages that included remote start. My x5 is a base model with only the m package.

There has to be a way to code it. I'm surprised dealers in the US won't retrofit this feature.

I'm sure since this is a paid option, BMW will have it on lock down. BMW knows there's an active coding community. Even though they don't endorse it, they surely don't go out of their way to prohibit it. Look at other car manufactures where it's extremely difficult to code (Volvo, Mercedes). If BMW would allow paid options to be coded on, that would dip into their pocket. Someone wanting to code ASS off, they don't care - 5 blinks vs 3 blinks, I'm sure they don't care either. But getting an option free, that others have paid for, I'm sure they'll put their foot down.

Think you are right. This can be coded easily, but it won't actually start the car without an FSC code.
