But at least in same area. Does anyone know purpose of this "empty" plug? Behind panel on passenger side cubby.
Could this be the Connector for the trailer electronic brake controller?

Is that the side where the fuse panel is? I didn’t see anything like that dangling or connected. I did find a foil covered panel with sticky PSA and clips lying at the bottom of the compartment though

I was thinking that too. I have the hitch. Does it come with a brake controller?

Only the wiring for one, but I am not certain where the connection is as it isn't in the manual or the technical training docs. The link to the post above is the only info I've seen about where it is.

Thanks all...
Probably hitch or something not specked....nothing not working, so no problem.
I was just nosing around.

Is there an OEM controller available? Seems cheap to not include it with the towing package.

This is the OEM controller:

https://www.shopbmwusa.com/PRODUCT/2...AKE-CONTROLLER

It looks to me a lot like a legacy Tekonsha controller and so I would personally recommend you buy a more updated non-OEM with a compatible wiring harness adapter.

Google "2019 X5 Brake Controller" and there are plenty of options.

I agree for the price of the tow hitch option it's a shame this isn't integrated in to the vehicle dashboard like other manufacturers.

This is same setup I used when I had my F15.

The back clip latches onto the tether bar on the back seat. It doesn't interfere at all when you the seat is locked.

Couldn't find availability of the small nets in the two side cubby holes in the cargo area, so I made a substitute that works quite well. Drilled 1/4" holes in the two side panels, and ran 3/16" shock cord (bungie cord) to form an elastic gate. I obviously have too much time on my hands....retired & hate golf.

That's a great DIY! Can you just cut the bungie cord to length or were you able to find short ones on Amazon?

Looks amazing ... I might do this myself. What carpet liner are you using?

How were you able to remove the part from the passenger side to drill? The driver side/first aid side has a latch to open/remove. Thanks.

It pops out pretty easily. If you have a trim removal tool, just pry it off with that. If not, any flat object that won't damage the lining will suffice.

For those who have a G06, do you have the floor net or the regular cargo net? I looked at the trunk on mine, G06 doesn’t have the upper hook on both sides (only the lower metal hooks for a floor net.)

This is a brilliant idea - did it this weekend (on right side only so far) and it's awesome. Thanks!

I have not been able to find a cargo net for the back of the G06. I'm in the US and I have the hook inserts at the top and bottom (so that the cargo net can sit upright to hold some bags of groceries/milk, if needed).

It's approximately 41 inches wide that would be needed. Anyone find a solution that works/fits the X6? I just can't believe they don't make a version for BMW. Never had this issue when looking for a cargo net for my Audi!!!

Did your G06 come with the the Luggage Compartment Pkg (S418A)? If it did, you probably have the "flexnet" tucked away in one of the compartments in the cargo area.

I know this is a long ongoing topic on the F15 X5 forum where 1st, 2nd, & 3rd owners are finding the flexnet still in its original plastic bag...never used....after years and thousands of miles of ownership.

BMW has a net (just as you describe) for the G06 X6. If you don't have the LCP option you could still order it from the parts department at your local BMW dealership. This net is used for several BMW SUVs/SAVs....the F15/F85 X5s, the F16/F86 X6s, the G06 X6, and G07 X7.

You can see the "flexnet" in the illustration below from the parts database...it's item #3:

BMW part nbr 51 47 7 332 111

Here's a couple of pics from the f15 X5 forum where an owner found the "flexnet" that came with the storage pkg option...again tucked away in its little plastic baggy behind the left cargo storage door where the hitch ball, flares, and safety triangle are stored :
