Not sure which one it was but it def had a deep exhaust that could be heard over the music.

It’s a R8 5.2L in his pic. The exhaust is unmistakable.

What are the chances you get behind a Audi R8 on an open road straight away with a v8 TT 50i? At that point, my instincts kicked in and sport + mode appeared. My wife looked at me and said, “your not really going to do this?” I grinned back. She told her friends to hold on!

No one in the car said a word, the light turns green, and we both punched it! Roaring exhaust sounds of a 50i m-sport vs R8 was ON. It was absolute gorilla violence! We both rocketed straight and instantly climbing to 100mph... i let off. My 50i was on the R8’s bumper like chit on a stick and he never pulled away period. The 50i is that damn quick.

After achieving an insane rush, comfort mode was reactivated and I patted my X5’s dashboard ... “easy girl, easy, you did well”.
pretty impressive! not to mention you had about 3K lbs and 3 extra head on the R8!

I have a 650i M Edition & love the look of the 850i - but besides the big jump in price (let's be frank the 8 series is nothing but the new 6 series) is the loss of the beautiful moon roof with power tilt & sunshade. This is a dealbreaker for me as I don't want to be looking at a big hunk of black CF. Don't understand why they don't at least offer it as option.

It does seem odd not to have a pano roof on a GT car?? The M850i interior I was in was a bit dark and cave like. My C4S has a charcoal alcantara headliner but when I open my sunroof, it lets a lot of air and light in the cabin. The M850i feels a lot darker in comparison with black leather. I have the full leather package in black in my C4S and it’s a lot of black leather. I would have to have a M850i in ivory Merino or Tartufo.

Yeah I don't get it. All 6 series came with the huge pano roof standard. The CF only on the M6.

And your exactly right the pano lets in lots of light. I have the charcoal alcantara headliner as well, and with the Ivory Nappa it lets in lots of light.

Anyway going to be in the market for a new SUV
keeping my 650. Waiting on the M50i ordering guide!!

I've honestly never paid attention to R8's exhaust since every one I see is a V10 the only part that matters is the note

Nope it's a V8. The V8 and V10 models had the same round exhaust after the facelift. You can tell the one in the picture is a V8 due to the body colored mid-section around the license plate whereas it would be a darker gray or gloss black on the V10, like in the first picture.

I thought the new ones don’t do that between the two?

I know this is a 2016 is a 5.2 but perhaps the older 2014 still did the black panel between the lights?

The 2016+ redesign are all V10s only. They never had a V8 engine in the second gen R8s.
