I had issues creating my wife's profile this week. Created it, got the email, clicked the link to authenticate, and then could not complete registration ( address, phone number, etc).

After waiting a day in hopes that the issue would get resolved, I tried logging in in the car with her email address as the username and the chosen password and it worked.

This allowed for us to have our own profiles and then matched them to our respective keys.

I had previously made a BMW Connect account and that worked fine, including car profile. The issue was adding the car to the app. There is supposed to be an invitation email and they couldn’t generate that during the delivery and nothing had arrived prior.

It came with 35. Dealer insist it is the latest. I have them run key check and found that 45 is available. There is no 49. I returned later to pick it up. I end up practically spending the whole day with the dealership. The modes however were available with the 35.

What software version do you have? Those software updates were done at the dealership. Nothing OTA.

BMW just updated me at dealership for 03/2019.45 but any traces of that functions

So mine went in on Friday to update me from 11/2018.68 to the latest version (I'll advise when I get it back). The software update activated the cornering lights but none of the other functions. They have kept the car over the weekend and put in a case with BMW Technical to see what they can do.

I'm thinking you and I have a similar issue. I'll let you know what happens.

If you are not seeing the new feature, you might need to refresh your BMW apps (hold down controller on "Installed Apps", tab "Update apps and services")

I can see all three functions on my ver 03/2019 .37. It will enable the seat heat and the side, not the steering that's what i noticed on mine.

Don't be too jealous of "experience" and "caring" functions — I can't believe anyone at BMW spent any mental energy and time on such useless drivel. The automatic seat heating is nice, however. The most interesting/annoying part is inconsistency in functionalities we're seeing, and the fact that BMW is not organized enough to have clear version release notes available to their customers.

Update: while the automatic seat heating below x temperature is a great idea, it would really only be so if it actually worked. It doesn't. Set threshold to 20C (it's 9C here right now), tried every permutation of starting, stopping, locking, unlocking, etc — seat heating does not automatically come on no matter what.

That's too bad. My Jeep GC Summit automatically determines when to turn on heated seats and steering wheel or cooling seats. A lot of this functionality has become basic features in some of the most basic vehicles.

That’s what I would like to see in the future software update. I don’t know why BMW is allowing any of this to happen. It’s as if BMW thinks it’s not going to hurt their reputation or sales. :

Update for me. X5 is still at the dealer as they are unable to activate the Experience Modes and Caring Car after the software update. They have X5's on the lot with these features activated and some "without". BMW Technical Services wanted the car for a few more days to figure out the problem.

Is it a reasonable assumption that your, BMW's, and the dealers focus on these apps is to figure out the root cause of the inconsistencies rather than the actual functionality of these apps? Because the functionality is not worth the trouble at all, but identification of root cause certainly is worth it?
