Remote Software Update
I got a message on my ConnectedDrive drive app today saying it was ready, so I figured I'd do it since I was home.
It was straight forward, took about 30 minutes. The lights around my idrive controller were flashing during some parts which was weird. My apps all came back but I was hoping caring car and climate would be there but they're not. I did have to unpair my iPhone and re-pair it to make CarPlay work again and oddly reset my home screen and valet mode to not come up on exit. Pretty easy though.

Been on 03/2019.48 for almost a month now. No remote software upgrade has become available for our car...and still no options for Experience Modes, Caring Car, and Climate Control Rules.

I was on an early version (my nov build had to be updated in early Jan with a camera issue) and I know it changed and will check next time I'm in it. Maybe mine got upgraded because my software was so old. :

Am surprised BMW released 03/2019.60 now when the next major release (07/2019.XX) is due in about two weeks from now. What's new in .60 over .48?

Funny you mentioned this. When I got the update notice it had a message that this was "available until July 16". I wondered if i would lose the update because I'm too slow or if there was another newer one coming.

I am in Macau and do not have direct or remote access to my car. However, when I logged onto the BMW Connected Web, OTA upgrades seemed to be listed as something for which I must pay.
Am I reading these images correctly?

Remote Upgrades is a subscription service but four years are included with the vehicle. Look at your home page, you will see that you are subscribed to Remote Software Upgrades.

Interesting update:
Drove my car this morning, checked for updates, none found (in car or on the app). HOWEVER, I now have the experience mode, caring car and climate control rules available in both the settings, and widget/apps. These are new to my car. Picked up 6/7. IDrive version .44 So somehow, those were added to iDrive. You might want to check your car for them in the coming days. |

I'm pretty sure the apps are updated by choosing Update Apps and Services which pulls from the Connected Drive store. This probably also updates automatically in the background.
I suspect the caring car apps etc, have a dependency on any minor point version of 19-03 firmware, as evidenced in the 19-03 release notes. |

How do you know there will be 07/2019.XX?

There are three major software cycles each year - March, July and November - as per BMW practice. G05 started with 11/2018.XX as it's a new model.
