I've searched but cant find what I'm looking for-
I thought I knew the steps for finding the software version I got upgraded to, I've done it before but that was way back in January and can't find that thread. I've even asked the car- she wanted to navigate me to Software CA Can somebody tell me off the top of their head how to find my new current software version? Thanks

it will give you an option to check for updates. your version number is above that option and is also displayed when you select the option. |

A handful from the US have gotten notification and performed an update, but the vast majority have not. 😢

My speculation is that the few who have received OTA updates either had a specific build (ie maybe some of the older iDrive versions out there) or it was just a test for the larger, new series update due out in July.
It will be interesting what happens when that comes out. Next week maybe? |

I thought I'd get the seat/steering wheel rule app, but it's still not there. Hopefully the next OTA update will give me that.

When I saw build .60 and then days later .63 reported here on the forums, I decided I was better off with a working system, than a newer one that clearly is still getting tweaked daily. I’ve checked every day on both connected drive and in my car. No updates. |

This was happening to me until I removed the iPhone from the device menu in the car completely, paired it back up. Except when the phone asks if you want it to access contacts, etc... say No. Then once it’s all done pairing, open the connected app and allow that access to your contacts (if you want)

This is allegedly coming and will allow you to set the temperature below which the heated seats / arm rests / steering wheel turning on when "climatize now" function is run.

There is a climate control app that sets rules for when to turn on the seat heating and the seat ventilation based on temperature. The steering wheel is not included from what I saw this morning while playing around with it. The one odd thing is that the temperature for initiating the seat ventilation only goes up to 68 degrees. At that temp I really wouldn't run it and was hoping to set it around 85 or so.

Not me - either via CD app on phone or directly in car. It sometimes spends hours searching, so I get hopeful, but it never finds an update!
Car was delivered in May with 2018 software on it and apart from few CarPlay issues (which go away when I unpair/repair phone and twiddle with a few random settings) it's OK. I find both the lane control steering and the breaking with the auto speed control rather too firm - so am hoping for improvements, as per release notes on BMW website, for new iDrive software when I eventually get it. |

I actually like the aggressiveness of the lane control. It one time helped me with a car approaching from a lane across in my blindspot.
To fit everyone's taste, I hope they would make more levels of aggressiveness. |

I just got my car back yesterday with .48 and did not get a chance to test this so ACC is improved with .48 and no need to ask dealer for .6x?

I will pick up my G05 sometime in early August. Does iDrive update the software remotely (i.e. download the updates) via the vehicle's antenna, via your home Wifi, or via your cell phone, assuming it's paired with your car.

In short, remote upgrades are only just starting to be rolled out. Most people have not received one yet. It will download over the cellular network in the car or via the ConnectedDrive App on your smartphone. |
