Sounds like comfort access is not working/detecting the key, try rebooting iDrive.

.55 fixed my .53 issues of no caring car experience modes and missing apps.

ISTA system report. Also tells me that 'connected drive' connectivity should be renamed to 'disconnected drive' it's that flaky.

Since OTA updates is a subscription service and some of us are almost at one year of ownership... I wonder I BMW will compensate us for a year of no OTA service.

Yeah, right....

My 2019 X5 has been updated to .55 as of Tuesday this week from .35. Related to iPod integration issues, I thought I would post an update for those that still use this method for music playback. I have the following setup:

-iPod Touch 7th Generation - 256GB - connected via standard lighting cable using a USB-C adapter in the center console.
-iOS 13.1
-Bowers & Wilkins system
-Most of my music is encoded in ALAC, but some is MP3/AAC/etc

When I purchased the car in December, my old iPod Classic experienced the common issues of random shuffling or songs randomly being set to repeat. The update to .35 resolved the repeat issues, but the random shuffling still occurred every 4 or 5 starts (of the car).

The new update seems to have resolved the remaining issue of the random shuffle. I am yet to experience this over the last 4 days, and I have been in and out of the car multiple times per day. The only annoying behavior I have seen is that every 4 or 5 times the iPod is paused, and I have to click on the song on the iDrive to resume the song, but it has always resumed correctly.

Overall, I am happy and the issues seems resolved. If I start to experience any random behavior, I will post an update.

I noticed the same thing, were you able to get this resolved?

Yes, but I was able to scroll through songs on .35 as well. On .35 I would only see the "Please Wait" when it started the random shuffling, but that would stop when I would go through the menu and select something new to listen to. I saw in another post you have a 6th generation iPod Touch. I had one of those as well, and it behaved exactly the same as the 7th generation.

I experienced the same issue. However, a BMW regional rep told me it is working properly. I re-read the manual and it is working according to the description. So now the welcome lights only come on when you unlock the car. Three ways to unlock. Key fob, car setting to unlock when approaching, or by touching the handle. I liked it the way it use to be - lights up as you approach it regardless.

The camera still doesn't switch from rear to front, similar to LexxM3's 3rd video (camera handling bug).

Anybody having the same issue? Below is the picture after I backed up and switched to drive.

That is not correct, I have .55 and the welcome lights come on before the vehicle unlocks. The difference could be that I have it set to unlock when approaching. Maybe when that option is not set the welcome lights only come on when you touch the handle.

Correct. If it is set to unlock when approaching, the lights will come on when approaching. Otherwise they will not, at least on my X.

Okay good, thanks. When you said they only come on when the vehicle unlocks I thought you meant in all situations.

Mine on 55 has many issues unresolved with iPod 6th Gen on USB C in center console. Have approx. 9000 songs and only about 5100 songs load on idrive. Nothing after letter "N" shows up in list; weirdly I can search for a song that starts after "N" like with "S" and it shows up on search list but if I try it play it, just silence! I dont get the Please Wait as much anymore but iPod connection resets a lot like every 5-10 minutes. Song resumes from where it disconnected. Cant believe they cant get decades old iPod protocols right.

I just got my M50i with .55 software and have issues using my iPod Nano. The car will not recognize it as even being connected until I unplug it, then plug it in again into the USC-C in the console and then works fine until I shut the car off, the I go through it all again. It worked fine in my last two cars, so I know it works.

As a result I've been listening to my music via bluetooth on my iPhone 6, but there's issue with it not recognizing all the the songs on the different playlists; which as I understand it, may be an Apple problem and not a BMW issue. One of the playlists is all there and one, even though it shows it exists, has no songs on it according the car, but they're in fact all there.

Edit: I just resolved the issue with the playlists on the phone by syncing my phone via a cable to my iTunes in my Mac, now they all show up on the car.

Any comments or suggestions to resolving either of these issues are appreciated.

Anyone else notice "reduced night vision" with the new software update.

Prior to the update, using surround view in low light/night time situation, the camera was able to provide a grainy but lit/contrasty image that showed the surrounding environment. Curb, etc.

after .55 update, my surround cameras ability to provide useful surround images in dark/poor lighting seems very reduced and almost useless.

One thing I have noticed after moving from 11.2018.49 to 07.55 is the cruise control no longer applies the auto hold in start/stop traffic. It simply drives off when the car in front moves. In .49 after about 3 seconds the auto hold would come on and then you would need to press the accelerator to start moving again.

Not a big deal and I like the change, but it took me by surprise when it happened this morning.

That's funny. With me it's opposite. I did code the auto speed assist though so that could be the cause of auto hold for me. Haven't tried it with auto speed assist set to manual ACC though
