Unfortunately I don't think anyone will be coming out with them anytime soon, the M50i is now in its 2nd year of production and still nothing. That's why I went with the M850 downpipes.

If you go 100% catless, it will be very loud during cold start and the smell will eventually get you thinking twice.

I do not understand why people use catless DP's. There is no performance gain vs a high flow cat downpipe, you're guaranteed to trigger CEL's and they stink. All to save a few bucks?

Actually smell doesn't bother me I just returned my x5m lease had active autowerks catless dp and e-race exhaust sounded like a beast I'm mostly getting it for sound don't care for performance at the moment because I will not be tuning this car when it's time to do inspection I will just swap out pass inspection and put it back on

PIA if your state requires emission inspection, can't see a tremendous benefit just for the sound

$379 vs $2,300 isn't a few bucks.

Atleast for me it isn't.

Catless will always allow for better flow and thus more power then catted. Perhaps it's a minuscule difference, but worth noting nonetheless.

Flash tune clears CEL..

According to Jake @ ARM, they will have a catless DP specifically designed for the 50i/M50i by mid-June.
It'll incorporate a lower mounting point to be bolted to the transmission to mitigate excess vibration!

Exactly, the smell is horrendous, like an old school bus. Hillbilly stuff for sure.

+1

The smell is not that bad, you still have the resonator and mufflers

What do the resonators and mufflers have to do with removing unburnt gasoline?

The smell is never bad for the driver, it's for the car following and it stinks.
