yes its working now. It kept saying "sent successfully to vehicle" but nothing was happening. There is a menu under the climate setting that asks you whether you want to "remote engine start." I checked that box and now i am able to start the car by hitting "climatize now" on the CD app

BMW Sytner Sunningdale (UK) updated my idrive software to the latest version 03/2020.30 whilst my car was in for service.

Connected app lost car location. Servicen said that they got service bullet about the problem, so new version will fix the problem.

If you want the update they are not doing it without a reason because it takes 3 hours. But if you have a software problem they will. So like e45 was not connecting CD.

But if you really want the upgrade there are a lot of potential problems you can use to convince them.

Questions are

Do you really need the upgrade if you don't have issues?

And do you really need the upgrade now in times where we are trying to minimize contacts because of Covid19 . I would just wait for 06/2020.

Good point. I think I will just wait. When 06/2020 comes out can I get 03/2020 at home over the internet?

You also lose data how many km you have driven by electrity mode, thatīs pity as that`s important and relevant information in hybrid car! That should be as important information as normal odometer.

Also Bimmercode doesn`t support new versio, there are nothing to program Now

So do not ask update if you really don`t need it.

I’ve got 03/2020.30 now as well in my 45e. Didn’t loose any driving statistics. Will test bimmercode tomorrow. Did you get any error @e45?

I lost the total electric km driven too. Had to start at 0. Mean fuel consumption from factory didn't change. All others were set to 0 (individual, since last charge, since last fuel, ...)

Next major iStep is 7/2020.xx. This is the update that will supposedly include Android Auto.

I suspect next OTA will be 7/2020 and it will likely be available to existing cars via OTA sometime during Q4 2020.

I have the impression automatic parking is more fluent than before and the P you have to push on the touchscreen looks different. Or maybe it's just an impression. I didn't use it a lot before. Do others have a similar observation?

I got 03/2020.24 in Australia last week on a 3d. Difficult to spot any differences so far.
Would be good to see a list of changes.......

What I found so far compared to 07/2019

Turning off automatic steeringwheel heating when pre heating directly shows (see my first post)

Subjective but not sure if others noticed the same

- lane change more fluent, indicating arrow different
- automatic parking more fluent, letter P on the touch screen different.

Would be nice to hear other observations to complete the list.

What error did you get @e45 ?

Any US MY2019 that got updated to 03/2020.* yet? I'm nearing my first oil change and asked the dealer if they'll update to latest but their search returned "No update is necessary for your model/VIN... The software of your BMW will be updated automatically". Not even 11/2019.*! 😟

Had mine in at the dealer 2 weeks old because the SOS button would not dial out. After updating everything they determined the the TCB is bad and ordered a new one. Its the only thing that does not work in the car, anyway they put the 3/2020.30 Software while it was there.
