Forgot to answer with some jeans opinions then.

I have Levi's, Hollister and used to own Aeropostale ones.

I'm of the team of getting whatever fits well, regardless of brand or price.

Levi's and Hollister are equivalent, it's hard to find Levi's that don't fit too "bland".

Been liking the Hollister ones, and they're super cheap.

I used to buy Aeropostale jeans for 10 bucks every other Black Friday. They don't seem to last as long, but for 10 bucks.... lol

I recently bought 2 pairs of 501s out of the back of some guy's truck, I wore them each once, and now they are pushed WAY back in the closet. Just not enough room for m y thighs, and if I don't wear a belt, I'm showing way too much plumber's crack

I do have one pair of Wrangler, black, that fit EXCELLENT and are actually denim.

BUT, I only wear jeans every other Friday to work, and sometimes if I dress up as a cowboy to go to a quince. Heck, most days I ride the mortorcycle, I'm still wearing dress slacks to work . . .
569's are my favorite levi's too. Plenty of room but not really boot cut with all the additional material at the ankles.

Never noticed any considerable shrinking. I just fall between 30 and 32 inseam depending on the model. Quite a difficulty choosing online with no return/replace option (as I'm overseas).

Old Navy or American Eagle for every day BS jeans.

They start out as every day jeans then progress to outside yard work jeans. After that they become garage only jeans.

Agreed. It's especially tough to find decent jeans since I have a 36" inseam, so the "Austyn Long Inseam" style is all I wear now.

My oldest pair is ~18 years old and other than the material getting a bit thin in the seat, they've weathered the years just fine and the dyes have faded to a nice patina. As mentioned, you can find them for well under $100 at Amazon, Nordstrom Rack, etc.

As long as the design isn't too trendy and won't come and go with the season, I see no problem with spending $$$ on jeans though because a good pair will last almost forever.

I usually get Uniqlo jeans lately. They have high quality selvage Japanese denim and they're usually not expensive - about $50 a pair. Plus, they will tailor the length to whatever you like for free in store. Great for in-between lengths like 31", 33.5" length etc. You get a custom tailored jean for the price of off the shelf!

Arizona Carpenter that are no longer made for me. I always watch ebay for my size or close & buy when I can. I have some I still need to have a tailor take in. None of the other decent priced jeans feel right & I am not the guy to pay $75+ for a pair of jeans...

I bought 2 pairs during the anniversary sale this past summer for $99 each (they’re normally $200 a pair).
Love Paige.

Nordstrom has the best jeans FOR ME. They always have the latest styles and brands. I hate the flash too because I frequently wear them with a sport coat. The best ones so far are Graduate Slim Straight Leg Jeans. Simple clean lines. Snug thru the thighs and calves like I like them. They're a bit on the high side as far as jeans go - $200.00 pr. But the look real good and feel good too.

Here's a link: https://shop.nordstrom.com/s/ag-grad...&color=bundled

Now, all that said, I still wear slim fits Levi's for working around the house, working on cars, etc. I love my Levi's. Been wearing since I was 5!

Break dancing...man, I haven't heard that name in years. I remember when that was hot topic. I used to watch kids on the street. They'd throw down a piece of vinyl flooring and crank their booms...always a crowd.

Definitely checking this out. This is exactly why I started this thread.

You had me at selvage Japanese denim.

When I was a wee lad, Turbo and Ozone were my hero's. I actually had that VHS tape of Vin Diesel teaching you how to break dance.

I would recommend 7 for all mankind, but I'll say they're not what they were 5 years ago. I've been strictly wearing these since 2003 and when they started introducing the newer cuts (slimmer) is when it started going down hill. Back then they had only 2 fits, bootcut & relaxed. Now they're all pretty much slim which I hate. I just bought 6 new pairs just for work and they are not at all the same as the older stuff. The sizing is way off and the cut is horrible. The back pockets are a lot larger now to accommodate brick phones again. I bought them just for work, so I don't really care. I have separate clothes for work and personal. I was lucky to buy a bunch of the older fits a few years back. I've got like 25 pairs, so they should last me a long ass time.

The comment about quality of Old Navy, etc vs designer jeans. There's a big difference between the 2.

That is just too funny! Street cool was big thing, though. You should save that clip and show your future grandchildren. See what gramps did when he was a kid...

Guess I'm the outlier. Selvedge and raw. Levi's are fine, but I prefer Rogue Territory and Railcar, unless I'm going for Japanese, and then it's Oni or Samurai.
