power supply blew up i think

so i've been out of town for a week, just got back, went to turn on my desktop and the power supply popped, sparked, and refused to operate. i'm assuming it's shorted out, but has anyone else had a similar experience? i'm cautious about trying to turn it on again, don't really want to deal with an electrical fire. also, really bad smell associatied with it. time to order a new power supply?

Yup if you smelled it/saw sparks your power supply shorted. Just grab a new one off of newegg or ebay they're fairly cheap.

Power supplies, optical drives, and hard drives are the most common failing parts in today's PC's.. replace that shit under warranty, it's practically new.
