Take some drive-by's if you can - would be super intersted to see how it sounds under throttle!

Let me know what MHD says, that would get me to switch pretty quickly. Although on. The MHD website it says stage 2+ is only available for Gen 1 which is exactly what BM3 said.

I am wondering if a JB4 with MHD back end flash would have more options.

Wow this thread got some actual traction. By the way we did end up buying the X5. Love it. I still think its more than peppy enough for the fiance's daily, but it is interesting to see the discussion here.

Side bar that I'm more interested in for my M340 - you mentioned something about XHP support from MHD. Are you able to do the XHP flash through the MHD app? If so, whats the point? Just the convenience of one app? What does "support" entail?

I'm running the MHD OTS Stage 1 on my M340 and the only thing that still urks me is the timing/laziness of the shifts - especially in comfort. I've actually set it to start in sport mode by default because of this.

zgb2008 I misread what you wrote - MHD confirms, there's no stage 2+ maps for gen2 b58 - here's what they said "there are not ST2+ maps for GEN2 B58 cars, ST2 is already as strong as ST2+ on GEN1 B58"

This is fine - still worth it in my opinion, and then eventually they'll come out with stage 2+, but because I will have paid for the Super License, I will get that (and any other upgrades) for free.

Yes, I would agree - it definitely feels smaller than it actually is - decently peppy...
Daily_Dravit You can't flash XHP through the MHD app (they're different programs so you would need to purchase them separately) - but when you have MHD, in the app, there's a check-box to indicate whether your vehicle is flashed with XHP and so that probably speaks to the integration - not sure exactly though - zgb2008 might be able to shed more light, or you can email MHD directly.

They also say “Your car should be Gen2 B58, therefore Stage2 already maxes out turbo

A gen1 stage 2+ will far outshine a gen 2 stage 2 if the gen1 has a HPFP that can run straight e85 since the TU seems to get best results at e50.

I don’t like that MHD says the custom rom features such as the anti lag and map switching is unavailable for the Gen2. I have not gotten the map switching to work with bootmod3 but can confirm the anti lag works. Waiting for BM3 support to respond about the map switching since I flashed stage 1 multi map and I’m stuck on the 91acn aggressive tune. I am gonna try a few things out today and see how the car responds and if I’m not happy with it may consider the MHD bef in conjunction with my JB4.

So I have been having issues with bm3 and I am wondering if it’s my DME unlock being…half done? BM and MHD both say I need a bench unlock, but I have pictures of the bootloader hooked up to the DME with the alert that the OBD was unlocked successfully, but I am wondering if that was only half of what has to be done, so so far any results could be on my end.
All of the custom settings you can configure for an OTS map work perfectly with the flash and the car is pulling 19psi so I know the flash is doing what it should to an extent.

I have ran the 91acn stage 1 and 91 stage 2(not acn). The car definitely has more power, but so far the butt dyno doesn’t think it comes close to a JB4 running map 3. With the JB4 from a dig I was able to chirp all the tires and raced a newer Audi S4. With bm3 stage 2 91oct, the car almost feels stock off the line and seems to shift early, but it is smoother. I am concerned that with out a trans flash the tune is going to make the car less drivable in anything other then sport+ with the trans also in sport. Comfort and adaptive have become annoying with the quick shifting.

I’ll let you know what I am able to figure out.

I’ve just emailed BM3 tuning asking to see what they have available for the B58TU2 engine. Let’s see… 🤔
