Painted Front Reflector Mod

I haven't seen anyone post this simple mod yet for F95 model, so I thought I would share.

Took about 60 minutes per side to install and no special tools. Removing the old reflector requires some good heat to loosen the adhesive, otherwise easy instalation.

Here's some links in case you want to give this a try.

My 2021 X6MC just arrived today . I just dropped off the painted reflectors to have install before delivery. November 23th earliest because of the "Stop Sale".

Just picked up my ‘22 F95. Not savvy on working on cars, how hard would this install be? Would be worried about paint damage while removing the parts.

I just covered them with some pre-cut dark Laminx film. It was cheap and easy.

I just watched the video, it does not look hard but there is way too many parts that need to come off for me personally to diy … the effort is also not worth it for me for the minimal change it brings to the car

I cannot recall all the details but drilling out 2 or 3 rivets tops was sufficient enough for access with wheels on (clocked away obviously for access). The video is not accurate on how painful removing VHB can be... and it's a hit or miss on much comes off without cleaning....I was using a high end steamer that also has the option to shoot out boiling water.....

So whatever VHB is left...is the most annoying part of using plastic scrapers, spirits, etc . You do want to get it as clean as possible (zero VHB) so that when the new reflector goes on, it sits just as flush/even as the original fitment.

Just used some gloss black 3M wrap on mine and cut it off as well. Took 5 mins per reflector.
