OP has the 50e where preconditioning runs for 30 minutes. being a PHEV, it has some caveats:
1) the vehicle is programmed to shut off to prevent idling (because it's a hybrid)
2) the owner has to ensure adequate charge level of the high-voltage battery since it powers the HVAC system (even when the ICE is running)
3) running the ICE to provide HVAC while idling requires 'workaround procedures'
