esys video on razzle dazzle coding
This one seems to check all the boxes on what is needed..
Still might wait for dealer to see if they will do it. Might still get bimmercode for simple things.. |

Some of the links above I searched using duckduckgo and for the last year and this is what came back. Maybe someone has a recent cheat sheet for you. |

I know there was recent passage of this, but I believe there were more stringent requirements than the EU. |

I have followed this video to remove 5AP from VO and then switched to protool to code ECUs which is much more easier and user friendly. Antidazzle and VLD works on my US 2023 X5 G05

I'd also highly recommend Steve at codemybimmer.ca if you're not comfortable doing this yourself. I've used Bimmercode and in the distant past used ESYS but wanted this feature done by a pro until I get comfortable with ESYS again.

There are a number of US spec X5 owners that have successfully enabled this feature via FDL coding If one of these owners can come forward and post the coding on the forum or pm me the coding. I will add the coding to my Cheat sheet that is floating around on the forum. My cheat sheet can be used in Bimmer Utility, ESysX Expert and even in Launcher Pro 3.7 as it ignores the incorrect labelling in the latter case.
I am not familiar with this feature as my X5 has it as standard, as it is a Euro/ROW spec model so I will need the original code settings before hand but on a good note i will be able to cross check the coding against mine

US spec vehicles have a software module made to specifically disable the antidazzle logic...that has to be removed through VO coding first, then the appropriate software switches can enable the functionality. Not every application can do VO coding.

I am using the same analogy as Lane Change Assistant (LCA) which has 8TR added to the vehicles FA in early 2018/19 models and currently to those have specially ordered exterior paint that is thicker than normal and contains a higher % of metallic elements that prevent the 4 radar units from working as intended. You however can enable LCA to work using FDL coding alone without changing the FA and risking your car from being flagged. The only drawback is every time you have an OTA update you have to repeat the coding exercise. My suggestion was to put the coding into an XML file format to simplify and speed up the process and the file can be using in several coding programs as outlined previously.

Making the disclaimer first that the "correct" way to do this is to remove 5AP from FA/VO and then coding the BDC_BODY3 ecu. E-Sys knows what to do automagically once 5AP is removed. However ...
BimmerUtility already has this cheat built in. All you have to do is load the BDC_BODY3 (1DF8) CAFD into FDL editor and then select Cheat Codes. It's all there with a simple button to Enable or Disable. This is assuming you are only wanting to remove the effect of 5AP and not retrofitting and adding 5AC or 5AZ. |

Edit: Here is some info from one thread: i removed 5AP then updated BDC_Body3, Kafas4, FLM (both), Dkombi. Then I went in and changed the following: FDL Code the following in Kafas 40F9: COUNTRY_VARIATION Europe_RC [01] C_FLA_BS_ENTER_THRESH Rest of world [03] C_FLA_BS_EXIT_THRESH: Rest of world [02] Also code the following in 40F9: C_FLA_CC_MESSAGE_3: CC_message_active to no_CC_message [00] C_FLA_US_SENSITIVITY_MODE: US to Normal [00] https://g05.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...0&postcount=54

Interesting. My search skills were lacking last night. I thought the other ecus only needed to be changed if you didn’t already have 5AC or 5AZ.

Thanks for clarifying guys. I coded mine tonight according to what you had done. The cheats built into BimmerUtility are definitely different. The ones for Kafas 40F9 are mostly the same but definitely different so I created my own cheat based on what you all had done. There's a BDC_BODY3 1DF8 cheat for anti-dazzle but much of the settings are focused on cornering light behavior. I know there were cheats for other modules as well but I'm going to stick with this for now.

I had Steve from codemybimmer code my car remotely to allow Anti-Dazzle and VLD to work. Took about 25 minutes. He did say he had to go into 5 modules to make the changes.

Is there any shortcut yet that does not require the removal of 5AP? I know they eventually figured out everything that needed to be FDL coded on the F8x platform so that you did not need to remove anything from the FA. Has this been done on G05/F95 yet?
