Edit: I should note that ventilated seats are standard on the M50i so no need for ordering anything but the vehicle. Last edited by TurtleBoy; 10-11-2020 at 05:45 PM.. |

It seems where the problems happen (and happened in our case) are the country-specific config communications between the importer and the factory; Any errors cascade into the docs/websites, the dealers really have no idea, and the question becomes if the errors are caught in time before cars start down the line. (in our case they originally thought it was just a documentation error) It's not a big deal if the cars are dealer orders (and of course we don't find out about those), but if they're priority 1s then customers end up finding out. In this case, hopefully you're right and it ends up being a paperwork screwup vs something that made it to the factory. (BMWNA would know for sure)

Please explain, what is the screwup you are referring to? There has been absolutely zero instances of a vehicle being built or delivered without ventilated seats when they should have been there. The OP posted that back in August and no one, anywhere, at any time has been told anything close to that. It is nothing, please do not try to rile people up just for the sake of doing so.

In the meantime, here's the point: BMW occasionally fucks up car orders; It's happened to me and other forum members ... because, as it turn out, BMW isn't perfect hard for you to accept, I know. Here's the better part: BMW has made it right with all of us AFAIK. So the message for people is, shit happens, don't expect perfection because companies aren't perfect, though if BMW does make a mistake, they'll make it right, at least they have for me and others. |

As I said many posts ago they definitely do but that has nothing to do with the topic at hand. It can theoretically happen with any option or feature at any time but in response to the post that started this discussion there is no additional need to worry about that happening. I never understand how looking at a situation logically and factually is taken for advocation of a particular stance. Of course that always seems to done by folks who either don't understand the topic or are posting out of emotion. |

Then you shouldn't be saying shit like You don't know that, and shit happens. Hopefully everything works out, sometimes it doesn't, better to let people know if doesn't BMW will make it right.

When I ordered mine at the end of June 2020, it was delayed because the seats were backordered (ventilated). It may have been just the color. Anyway, it arrived in early September with them as ordered after a delay. During that time, the packages were slightly shuffled.

I'm still a bit salty the glass controls took away the volume knob. I mean, in a way, I guess it makes sense to only have the glass controls in that one gear area. I think it's more the knowing that older models have it. At least I can buy it after market and shouldn't be too hard to install.

Soft close doors are not available on the M50i. Only in the X5M and X6M.

And Waze is not gone on my build at least. I just used it the other day.
I will say compared to the auto start stop in my 2018 540, auto start stop does act more intelligently. It seems to sense when the the car in front of you moves and starts, plus green lights. It hasn't been 100% of the time, but many times. |
